Excellant BEEB Q&A KENNY...
Did you know this.......
"In 1994, Russia signed a document that became known as the Budapest Memorandum.
Among other things, it committed Moscow to respecting the independence, sovereignty and the existing borders of Ukraine after it got rid of its Soviet-era nuclear weapons.
But 20 years later Russia invaded Ukraine, annexing Crimea and fomenting a war in eastern Ukraine."

Japan now working with USA re Putin............................
He would be stupid to think about sending troops in, Putin IMHO will back off when he gets a bit of a deal as to not lose face.
After the Opposition [and now, more than half the electorate] have been openly laughing at the CONservatives (like my starting the word with 3 capitol letters?) they will open themselves up to ridicule if they now get rid of Boris because he is a "bad egg". And, ridicule makes them far less electable, so giving him the boot is not an attractive option.
Will Boris be tempted with a bit of war? He can play Churchill and send some troops to the Ukraine. It would play well to his supporters and those of his TEN Friends and provide cover for the problems in the NHS, rising food and energy costs, the passage of the Authoritarian Reform Act, misuse of public funds etc.
