Hexagon Purus selected by Nikola Corporation to supply hydrogen cylinders for serial production
April 29, 2021
Hexagon Purus has signed a long-term agreement with Nikola Corporation (NASDAQ: NKLA), a global leader in zero-emissions transportation and infrastructure solutions to develop and supply its high-performance type 4 hydrogen cylinders. The scope of the agreement is over a multi-year period with an estimated sales value in excess of EUR 200 million.
The project’s development phase will commence in Q2 2021. The technology is planned to be certified for distribution in European and North American markets.
The long-term agreement also positions Hexagon Purus for potential further projects within a range of truck and other vehicle applications with Nikola.
“We are proud to partner with Nikola and support the delivery of its flagship hydrogen fuel-cell trucking solution. Putting these hydrogen-powered trucks on the road will accelerate the energy transition in heavy-duty transportation," said Michael Kleschinski, EVP Light Duty, Distribution & Cylinders, Hexagon Purus. “The first Hexagon Purus 700 bar hydrogen cylinders will begin testing and validation later this year in accordance with Nikola’s specifications.”
Driving energy transformation
The combined competencies of the Hexagon Group, in combination with the experienced Hexagon Purus specialists, have led to the development of a portfolio of high-performance cylinders with attractive value proposition. Hexagon Purus’ High-Performance Type 4 Hydrogen cylinders are certified to multinational standards and are already successfully in service on other fuel cell trucks and busses.
About the market
The global market for zero-emission mobility solutions, both fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV) and battery-electric vehicles (BEV), is expected to grow significantly over the next several years, according to various market and industry analyses. Within the commercial vehicle segment, heavy-duty long-haul and high payload truck applications are in particular expected to benefit from FCEV technologies powered by hydrogen fuel.

Hi I had the same problem not being able to trade Purus on HL - They also told me that
The stock dividend was at a rate of 0.151390 new Hexagon Purus shares for every 1 Hexagon Coposites share held, less 25% Norweigan withholding tax due to the shares being classed as income
New freebies on the way ;-)
Wondered where you had gone , just caught up.
I like your posts.
Unfortunately not. I have tried but no joy either. Purus told me it's an HL issue.
I want to add to my 'free' purus allocation but Hrgreaves Landsdown will not take buy orders. Can anyone tell me a way to buy Purus? Thanks.
MajorOak, I like it.
Piedmont going well up 10% today and I am also in IronRidge resources which had a major upgrade today. Are you in that?
Meanwhile, Hexagon continues to surge ahead seemingly a bit of a market rebalancing between Composites and Purus following the capital markets day.
I had phone problems and had to remove all apps. LSE wouldn't accept password or email so sadly after over 11,000 + posts had to re register.
In keeping with the robinhood theme is chose MajorOak.
No news too , which is good.
Nope, Standard Lithium are very good value.
Actually to start FULL production of Lithium within weeks.
US Gov will and have declared lithium as critical and Bidens war chest for remewables will not just be hydrogen related.
Tesla buying 30% of Piedmont production when the mine hasn't even opened yet is obviously the main nudge.
The Piedmont deal to buy 50% of Sayong , 60,000 tons of high grade lithium carbonate - rock not clays or bromine / borite contaminated - is another master stroke. 15 GW Tesla factory across in Texas being built and world lithium major Albamerle just around the corner.... Piedmont is rock solid.
Standard Lithium is way ahead in time and will have 2-3 major announcements within 2 months !!!
Plenty of land bought around the current supply ahead of bulk processing proven processing. Cheap tbh.
Thanks very much for your tip on Piedmont RobinHood. I put £10k in on your recommendation and it's doing very well indeed! I read your posts on Standard Lithium too. Have I missed the boat there?
"The technology in the upcoming H2 trucks is an upscaled version of the hydrogen powertrain in Toyota’s Mirai fuel cell passenger car. The electric traction motor used to move the wheels and the onboard battery are both larger (1.6 kWh versus 12 kWh, for the batteries), but the fuel cell stack itself is exactly the same as the one in the Mirai. The only difference there is that the trucks will use two stacks while the Mirai only needs one. The trucks, which are built using a Kenworth T680 body, will also store more hydrogen on board at 700 bar. The truck’s motor produces the equivalent of 670 horsepower and 1,375 foot-pounds of torque. That will give the powertrain enough power to start moving while on a 20-percent grade when fully loaded with 80,000 pounds combined weight, Toyota says.
Beyond the vehicles themselves, two new heavy-duty hydrogen fueling stations will be built as part of the Shore-to Store Project. One will be in Wilmington, California and the other will be in Ontario, California. That will bring to five the number of station heavy-duty hydrogen fueling stations available for H2 trucks in the Los Angeles basin. Fully refueling one of the hydrogen trucks will take between 20 and 25 minutes, but with improved technology that time could drop down to 10 or 15 minutes, Toyota representatives said."

"Hino also is halting production at a plant in Woodstock, Ontario. Based in Novi, Michigan, Hino Motors Manufacturing USA Inc.". So they moved up to ONTARIO to make Toyota - Hino Mirai Fuel cells used in TOYOTA, KENWORTH & HINO Trucks and hydrogen cars.
MASSIVE interlinked supply awaiting NEL asa & HEXAGON COMPOSITES & HEXAGON PURUS.
Can't wait for the step up in news flow.

Good luck sharpeye.
The consequence of what he said is either Purus is overvalued or Hexagon is undervalued. The immediate reaction seems to have been to slash the Purus shareprice by 9%. I'm going to let it settle and if it (Purus) starts back up, increase my Hexagon Composites holding.
US development will come and soon imho from what I've read recently.
California based too.
Just out !
Press release, 11 January 2021
Raufoss, Norway - Committed to driving energy transformation, Hexagon Ragasco - a Hexagon company and world leading manufacturer of LPG composite cylinders - unveiled today a ground-breaking, next generation LPG smart cylinder that communicates with both users and LPG distributors.
Building on its track record of innovation, Hexagon Ragasco has brought the LPG cylinder into the digital age, developing an “Internet of Things” (IoT) offer that enables the connection of Hexagon Ragasco’s LPG composite cylinders to consumers’ mobile phones - as well as to the IT systems of LPG distributors.
The technology allows users to have full control of the remaining gas level of their cylinder and therefore prevents usage disruptions in their domestic (cooking and heating) or leisure (barbequing) activities. Furthermore, it enables LPG distributors to tailor their stocks and supply logistics based on real-time data.
“Hexagon Ragasco is positioning itself to become the leading global supplier of smart, connected LPG cylinders,” says Skjalg S. Stavheim, President Hexagon Ragasco. “Our next generation smart cylinders speak to you. They let consumers know exactly how many minutes of cooking time is left and when they will need to order a refill. Our smart composite cylinders also give the LPG distributor insight into consumer-usage patterns, allowing optimized logistics and improved fleet management. We are confident our smart cylinders will have a steep adoption rate.”
Driving energy transformation
A significant part of the world’s population is reliant on LPG as a cleaner and healthier energy source for cooking and heating. For consumers, unexpectedly running out of their primary source of energy is a significant inconvenience. For LPG distributors, having the right size stock to meet customer demand is essential to avoid costly out-of-stock or over-stock situations.
The Hexagon Ragasco smart composite cylinder is based on battery-less sensors powered by energy harvesting technology. The smart cylinder collects data via IoT sensors and transmit those data to consumers phones and central cloud database.
Timing
Hexagon Ragasco will be conducting Smart Cylinder onboarding pilots throughout 2021. The commercial launch and scale up of the product is scheduled for 2022.
One thing that came up is that the Hexagon Purus 75% ownership is now worth more than the Hexagon total market value, meaning everything outside of Purus has a zero capital value. Obviously, this is nuts. CEO stated basically that "there doesn't seem to be much logic to the Purus valuation and we hope the remainder of the group gets revalued upwards soon"
I like the cut of the MD of Ragasco and also the energy capture tech. That sounds incredible

Good deal in Argentina.
I should have received 3,190 shares but I only got 2,414 so it's quite a difference. I have sent a follow-up email to the Comms VP so hopefully after the capital markets day is finished she may get around to responding.
Great US HYDROGEN exposure.

Not sure sharpeye. I got around £880 approx. Without looking. I decided , if I got any in the first place it was a bonus so haven't really looked much beyond making sure both Hexagon Composites and Hexagon Purus make forward moves to keep the sp rising.
Deffo doing that so the free purus shares are just a treat.
I will just let them roll.
Hi RobinHood69, what spread are you getting? It's shown as over 10% on HL which is ridiculous.
Also, can you let me know what you got as a % of your Hex Composites? As I understand it, it should have been 15%, but I didn't get that, did you?
And Purus up another 21%
