They won't unless forced to do so. While innovation is usually pretty good in business a lot of these companies are not that innovative in my mind. Uber, deliveroo etc are were they are due to how they treat their employees for the most part. They don't have the employment costs of a Royal Mail for example because they don't have any employees it's all self employed contractors.

Just out of interest. An article in the ft today predicting that the Gig employers will actually end up compromising a bit on conditions for their employees.

Which would of course be good for the RMG too.

Fair point I do understand how pension schemes operate when it comes to finding extra funds through investment all I am pointing out is that it may be wise to invest in corporate bonds and other stocks as well so as you lesson the risk to the pension fund but if it works then hey everyone is a winner and that is good for all parties and as an investor for 30 years in stocks I feel that has to be positive outcome

We seem to be finding a sort of consensus lets see how long that lasts. Yes it does come with risk all pension schemes do. You see our Final Pension Scheme ended in 2008 we have been out of a final salary for 9 years. Hence when you keep on about do we realise that such schemes are unaffordable, yeah we do but that is not what we are complaining about we are not in one or asking to be in one. As I mentioned when it was shown to us in only 2 of 20 years would we have lost out it is a good scheme… Read More
