FTSE 250 movers: CSR leads the way after Q1 profits soar
Consumer electronics company CSR climbed into the top spot on Wednesday after it saw profits soar in the first quarter bolstered by strong sales of wireless products in its auto, and voice and music divisions.[8 May '13]
London midday: Slow grind higher continues
Equities in London are continuing their slow grind higher, with the benchmark Footsie now gaining 19 points to the 6,576 point mark. That followed yesterday´s rise in the Dow Jones Industrial Average to above the 15,000 point mark for the first time in its 117 year history and stronger-than-expected results out of several corporate heavyweights on both sides of the Atlantic, such as Walt Disney - last night.[8 May '13]
London open: Stocks higher, but only just
British equity markets started the Wednesday session just slightly higher, with the Footsie gaining one point to the 6,559 mark. That followed yesterday´s rise in the Dow Jones Industrials Average to above the 15,000 point mark for the first time in its 117 year history. Nevertheless, some observers are pointing out that when adjusted for different factors, including inflation, it is actually still off its previous peak and in any case is not representative of the underlying[8 May '13]
London pre-open: FTSE to edge higher in early trade
City sources predict the FTSE 100 will open just three points higher from yesterday's close of 6,557, despite record gains seen in the US overnight.[8 May '13]
