The primary objective of the municipality 's population growth. We are convinced that in order to drive population growth , there must be a differentiated labor . It must be possible to work in a variety of industries in order to attract potential settlers . Also those who already live here should be able to operate within the industry they want. We know that it is not enough to have a job they enjoy , the municipality needs to develop many other things too, like cultural activities , accommodations in prime locations , a school in top class and so on. It is basically about the willingness of people to realize their dreams. One positive development of population and tax base is essential to cope with this in a good way . However, we view with no side on one point: the Minerals Act needs an overhaul . We believe , for example, that the municipality must come earlier in the decision-making process and have a greater influence than is the case today. We also consider a system to assess the environmental impact will be developed so that companies engaged in activities affecting the environment may be charged a fee equivalent to the environmental impact.
Debater : For Jokkmokk´s population growth important
Just over two years ago , it became known that an exploration company found a large deposit of iron ore in our municipality. Since then, the debate was gone high whether to allow a mining establishment in Jokkmokk. We in the political majority in Jokkmokk have set ourselves in favor of the establishment , something we were very clear to voters well before the 2010 election. The reason for our stance is the economic injection that would provide both local and regional business community. It would give a great deal of employment , access to population growth and opportunity for our children and young people to continue living in our wonderful municipality if they want.
To give an idea of Jokkmokk , I mention some important facts : Jokkmokk is the second- largest in Sweden . You can fit more than 103 Stockholm municipality within the municipality. Population count is just above 5 , 000. It gives a population density of 0.26 inhabitants per square kilometer. The corresponding figure for Stockholm 's 4752 residents. Almost half of the municipality's land area is covered by various conservation . To get a balanced view of the debate , it is important to understand these conditions . Any mining establishment would take more than a thousand of the city's area utilized. The debate often heard the argument that it is "only" 200 to 300 jobs at the mine . But this is equivalent to about 125 000 jobs in Greater Stockholm .
300 jobs is also a misleading figure as a mining establishment, the major impact on other businesses in the community. The following is a variety of professionals in and around the operation . It spills over on industries such as restaurant , hotel, construction , mechanics , electricians , consultants, administrators , painters and tourism businesses - the list goes on . Cardiff has a very entrepreneurial population , and there are good opportunities to develop the business further. Those who are against the establishment often say that we Socialists are seeing a mining establishment as the great savior, that solves all the problems and challenges. It is completely wrong and a way to reduce our arguments to an establishment. We who live and work here must continue with the work in progress to develop a breadth of industries . However, we believe that a mining establishment is another leg to stand on .
Cheers, I'm sure some of the regulars may have posted it before but always worth putting it out there again especially as linked directly to their database. Hoping for another good week ahead, cannot work out what is going on with our 100k buyer, whether like Trouble thinks it's someone trading or if someone is building a big stake, one things for sure they know more than me! it's going to get interesting the closer we get to Q1 and our mining concession decision.
Good link below which allows access to SGU's map of Sweden and links directly to their database showing all info on licences applied, approved, areas of national interest etc. If you filter the options on the left to 'Exploitation Concesion' and tick granted and applied it currently shows Kallak as a red dot (Applied) but as it is linked to SGU database I would expect this to change once a decision is made so worth checking in every so often. http://www.sgu.se/kartvisare/kartvisare-mineralrattigheter-en.html?zoom=255486.646804,7190604.87104,905699.837355,7607323.396012
