I really can't see this going down again, it has gone up steadily since 474p last week and another 5p today since I bought. But, its your call. GL

Candlestick charts on here are pretty basic you really need to register , (it's free )with a site like Shareprice .co.uk to see the type of chart your looking for .Are they predictive ? Some people think they are ,personally I'm not convinced .you'll need to make up your own mind on that one ,tons of information on the net . Just Google candlestick charts but as you say too much information can cause confliction . As for my GAP prediction. Your giving me too much credit , that could easily have gone the other way depending on news and how the big boys wanted to play it . Although it's fair to say many ,if not most ,GAPS get closed very quickly . Some take years and some never get closed. By all means learn a bit about them but I'd be wary about letting them interfere with a system that clearly works for you . ATB

Bit the bullet, sold some shares that were in profit and bought a large (for me) extra holding to get my average down somewhat below 550. The equation will be whether or not DLAR will rise faster than those I sold but my main objective is to reduce the loss and hopefully get it into profit. I really don't like sitting on a loss! The fact that it is not a long time since DLAR was over 1000 suggests it should have bottomed and is now in recovery. Got to hope. GLA

Good point.. Why ... Well Reading you post about Gap Trading to another poster...It just sparked an interest to find out and understand a bit about Gap Trading and Candlestick charts ..

Is there a site that gives free live candlestick charts movements during the day on RBS .. Then it is just needing to learn and grasp and be able to use the basic terminology of .. the hammer and others ..

Are candlestick charts a prediction of the future or what is happening now...

It is just an interest to possibly see how my system fairs against another and maybe improve it in anyway.. some extra knowledge can be an asset, to much can sometimes cause confliction...

My self taught system over what has repeated it`s self the past 2 years is purely based on following the repeated cycle of RBS movement until it stops or fails...Now timing is the issue I thought could help me ... your gap closing prediction of 328p last week was spot on and think you mentioned it a week before that....So I thought could be an asset to me if I could read charts the same as you...

All just an interest to possibly enhance my judgement further... it may be too Heavy for me but nothing ventured, nothing gained...

Meanwhile as you say I will stick with my system..

As you said the next results may break through £4 ... based on the last set of results it shot up to the 376 area then again back down to the 335 area, so that soon fizzled out maybe a similar situation during the next couple of weeks to complete yet another range bound cycle... regardless of the news .. we will see...
.

Thanks for that, i have been thinking the same thing surely it can only go up from here. Know there is no guarantees but with the BOE contract it is looking good an the SP has risen quite a bit over the last week. True not a loss until the sell, just a shock to the system when they drop so much. Maybe a strong buy.

No GAPS at present , up or down but why are you bothering with them ,the system you use at present , and one I totally agree with , works , why change it ? ...Candlestick charts !!! Bit of a change for you , be interested to hear your views. .. Agreed still in the same trading range , thought we might have broken through but came back down pretty quickly . Decent results might do it ????

Thanks .. Made a good call at 330 so it seems so far..

As for the future.. You made valid points. £4 .. The election..

Meanwhile RBS still seems to be still acting in a trading range pattern..

Last high around 375 up from a low of 335 .. And then last week back down to 328. And now 345. ...
Where from here ?... Back to 365 - 370...?
If so the cycle seems to repeat it self... No matter what the news.. The last few cycles this year.. And with better results and fortunes for RBS it still fails to rise to £4 .. Yet.

Jings100 ... Is there a gap to the upside to be filled ... Trying to get learn about gap trading and candlestick charts ..
