I was thinking the same. Good news for Thomas cook though, Monarch pulling out of long haul cutting jobs and pulling the plug on bases. Hopefully Thomas cook will take advantage of Monarch pulling out of bases
I'm beginning to wonder if the rise in TCG is connected with the big problems in Monarch and its associated companies. If MON are withdrawing from Long Haul and Charter then there is oppotunity for TCG to take up the slack.
Typical UK press, they always go out of their way to condem UK companies, as previous 14,022 of the complaints received were from delays of which Thomas Cook has no control over, especially after selling their major share in NATS which is irrelevant really!!!!
As you rightfully point out the UK Press ,they never publish any positives only negatives ,
While I being a the top of a complaints list is never good, you will notice that the top three are all the large IT operators. Therefore, compared to a pure airline, there are many more aspects that a customer can complain about. With respect to flight delays alone, no European airline can afford these due to the European compensation scheme, so huge efforts are being made to improve otp. There is no news in this article, but it does show that the changes imposed by HG operationally still need time to work there way through.
Page 37 of the SUN- some disturbing facts :- Thomas Cook leads a Ten group of travel companies for the most complaints!! Thomas Cook received 15,634 complaints in total which equates too 616 per Million Customers. Monarch 355 Per Million Thompson 256 Malaysian Airlines 176 US Airways 174 Jet2.com 169 Iberia 160 Vueling Airlines 142 Air France 140 Virgin Atlantic 139 Compare this list to the fewest complaints :- Aer Lingus 29 Easy jet 33 Ryanair 35 Swiss Air 40 British Airways 42 American Airlines 42 Lufthansa 43 Air Canada 51 Delta Airlines 51 Flybe 58
14,022 of Thomas Cook's complaints were over delays !!!!
At this stage in our slow but positive SP position we could really do without this type of publicity . With the worrying news out of the Ukraine yesterday evening with attacks on Russian Forces I sold 10,000 shares last minute to hopefully take advantage of any early drop which I suspect will happen on Monday as all the signs are there !!!!! Hope I'm wrong?
