Namibia - Murphy
9 Oct '14
Just been informed by Felix Njinji at Bloomberg that 'Murphy is one of those likely to drill next year' .... ;-) who are the others - Mulunga said three .. And that was before HRT announced Goid progress on partnering.

Murphy's acreage sita just above our Southern acreage ..

If Cairn want to drill Mauritania, wouldn't they want to increase their share from 35% and become operator as mooted in Chariots RNS of 8.8.13? Given that they will complete drilling SNE in a matter of weeks, isn't that likely to be one line of negotiations underway giving rise to a closed period?

Given their recent success in Senegal and the similarities to our Mauritania acreage, I bet the price has gone up and Larry is rubbing his hands together with glee. An early Christmas present RNS would be most welcome.

You may be right. The free rig slot http://www.helioschariot.com/2014/03/18/mauritania-2014-drill/ has always had speculation attached as it says alternative location, it's next door, it's in the area, and we are a partner .:

My apologies. I've reread your link and Kosmos, indeed, do plan to drill their Cap Boujour acreage in November, but using the drill ship Atwood Achiever, not Cairn's Cajun Express used to great success on FAN and on its way to SNE, so I still think they are coming for us after SNE is finished.

I read the link you posted and it didn't suggest a drill in Morocco in November nor any timescale at all for that matter. Cairns half-yearly report (June 30th) say it will drill a non-operator well off north west africa after the next Senegal well 'withing the next 12 months." Cairn only has non-operator wells with Chariot (C19) and Kosmos (Cap Boujdour) off north west africa. Kosmos' presentation dated October 2014 says it plans to drill its Moroccan (Cap Boujdour) acreage in 2016. That only leaves Chariot's acreage in Mauritania as Cairn's non-operator option off north west africa. See page 5 of Cairn's report and page 12 of Kosmos' presentation if the links below work.

FAR - one of the junior partners with Cairn - share price up 45% today. The reason for the subdued response is because Cairn have yet to call it commercial but have hinted strongly that it is. Once it is declared commercial then happy days. The India tax issue is also hanging over Cairn's share price ..

I hear you :-). My opinion is that to get a committment on acreage valued at zero would be a positive step - a good step forward. We might just get a surprise However.. There will also be three drills next year in Namibia.

Morocco is very likely to drill next year so I will also be accumating more each month.

Wheep - was there any hints on Namibia on your email exchange with Larry ?

Thanks

I agree but what type of a deal will be done on Namibian centrals? In my opinion I think it will be commitment for 3D seismics and an option of a free well carry at a later date. We all know what the current market would make of that!!!

I've always been optimistic here but I'm starting to become realistic as well. I ll keep on adding until we get a firm drilling schedule which in my opinion will be sometime in 2015.
