A similar thing happened to me in Spring. The holiday cost £1000 but in making the booking i made a mistake of 1 day.I called immediately to correct and was told that I could make the change but a fee would be changed- a whopping £200.
If you go on to twitter HG has tweeted "Brilliant opportunity to recognise and celebrate some of our superstars last night who go the extra mile for our customers. Very proud".....Some kind of TCG award thing.....In the same breath somebody tweeted underneath "That's funny as Thomas Cook will not rearrange a holiday for the family of a man just diagnosed with cancer #ironic. To me and as in my case which I reported earlier TCG have two sides and one doesn't seem to care very much for customer care...........pretty bad in my view!!
Okay, has this topic finally found its way to you, congrats! Behind the scenes there is a movement forming in order to curtail passengers' rights on a EU-scheme, that had gone too far for tje liking of the travel industry, but was adjourned due to possibly adverse effects on the recent elections. Insurance to cover this cost is said to increase air travel prices by between a fraction of a percent and 1,5 %. Certainly the average traveller will instantly stop all his bookings on your breaking news, that he has got rights to claim that most Europeans knew about for some time. Now please don't telll me this compensation is applicable on the TCG Airline Group exclusively! It either is and noone will book anywhere else - or it isn't and all my wild dreams of empty beaches would go up in smoke :-( Either way I must admit that the only reason to comment on this is to say hello to my friends in this thread again...
