It is interesting to re-read the post (s) in the light of your comments. The first is dated 18 September and is much as I remembered it except there is a lot more detail. But there is a second post three days later. I had forgotten about that. I can't argue with your logic.
People tend to post things aligned to their world view so when something comes out like "we have drilled through 100m of pure gold and believe our resource contains as much gold as has ever been mined in the world's history" one person will view this as "er're all going to be rich" whilst another will view it as "the bottom will fall out of the price of gold".
Caldecott clearly posts intelligently and in a well argued fashion. It could, however, be argued that, when it comes to KLG's case, he has a rather 'glass half empty' philosophy. I have that on some companies - usually the ones that I have lost a lost of money on!
Five pennies. I agree, i take it with a pinch of salt! I just wanted to highlight what the law is. Its a lot more restrictive than most people assume especially with regard to passing on unsubstantiated market rumour
To say C has committed market abuse is going a bit too far. Most readers of this board will be aware that C sometimes makes things sound a bit bigger than they really are.
As I remember his post he said that that some company bigshot told him that FPM could have withdrawn from the JV with KLG. That was about a month ago.
I'm just guessing but I think what could have happened is that C was gossiping with some mates and that's what one of them said. Put on the spot I bet none of them can remember who actually said it. People say a lot of silly things at an industry bash especially if the drink is free.
Take it with a pinch of salt. Don't make a federal case out of it.
Tedious ..hey!.. ;=) No offense mate I liked your reply . You casted out "disinformation" and that good enough for me. Welcome back (or was it someone else using the "cracked tooth" excuse before?) hope you stay a while
It was only a few posts ago that you mentioned attending a conference in Jakarta saying “the word on the street” is that FCX are pulling out. If that’s not misleading then I don’t know what is!! Starting unfounded rumour. tut tut.. shame on you. I’m sure that the director you sat next to wouldn’t be best pleased that you blasted that... _________ More to the point Caldecott has breached the EU directive on Market abuse. I suggest he updates his view of the world starting with section 118 of The Financial Services and Market Act 2000.
There are some crossed wires and I think it's my fault.
Elephants Run Free complimented me on the honesty of my original posts. Those posts with their clumsy imitation of jazz patter were nothing but gibberish. I can't remember them too well but I think I teased one of your posts as being boring and suggested you should listen to jazz as a cure for taking things too seriously.
The posts were so silly that the following morning I asked LSE admin to remove them on the grounds that I wasn't entirely sober when I made them. A cracked tooth was giving me trouble and was removed the following morning.
By complimenting me on the posts 'honesty' EFR was referring to their warmth and humour.. I replied to EFR agreeing that there isn't much of those qualities to be found on this board during the time that I have been following it. I was pleased that somebody had actually found them funny when I was feeling a bit of a chump.
Then updo's post made a tedious philosophical point about how can one tell the difference between honesty and misunderstanding. I replied that 'misunderstanding' is not the correct word to use (because it is passive) and suggested the problem should be phrased along the lines of how can one tell the difference between honesty of expression and an intention to deceive. You can't, of course, not without being able to read somebody's mind.
To be honest, I found updo's interjection irritating and replied as curtly as I did to shut him up. This morning there is a big argument and it seems to revolve around the use of the word 'honesty'. As I have tried to explain, I have taken the word 'honesty' to refer to a manner of expression not the content of posts. To refer to the content of a post, the words to use are 'truthful' or 'factual' or 'accurate' not but 'honest'. Someone can post a lot of rubbish and be honest in their intention and expression.
My posts to EFR and updo make no reference to you and have nothing to do with you. You are mistaken if you think I have said you are being dishonest in the sense you mean it in your post to me. You strike me as a person of great seriousness who would never post an ill-considered word. That's not a criticism.
The most I would say is that some of your posts tend to reinforce an unwelcoming tone on this board. It could be argued that more 'honesty' from all contributors - in the sense of 'warmth' and 'humour' and 'directness' - would be a pleasant change of tone and encourage more people to post. That's the reason EFR liked my original posts.
Lets not forget that we still have some more drill results to come (Dr Doom doesn’t talk about drill results, so we can look fwd to his next history essay). Would be nice to get something from one of these holes as Freeport are currently deciding their exploration budget for 2014.
Given they were drilled a while back I’m hoping they come in the next few weeks, but I guess we wait and see!

I’m sure that the director you sat next to wouldn’t be best pleased that you blasted that all over a blog, even more so that you took him completely out of context (which I’m sure you did). Likely the same reason KLG management won’t always respond to your emails, because anything and everything goes straight onto the Internet. As a listed company they need to be very careful what information they share, and whom they share it with.
I’m sorry, but I wouldn’t share anything with you.
Now that you have been heavily diluted do you even own any KLG shares? Not sure why I even bother to ask because you’ll never give a simple answer.
My dear erf - I thought you had stopped visiting this forum. It seems you can't get enough. Anyway, here's a poem about the animal kingdom:
the mockingbird by Charles Murkowski
the mockingbird had been following the cat all summer mocking mocking mocking teasing and cocksure; the cat crawled under rockers on porches tail flashing and said something angry to the mockingbird which I didn't understand.
yesterday the cat walked calmly up the driveway with the mockingbird alive in its mouth, wings fanned, beautiful wings fanned and flopping, feathers parted like a woman's legs, and the bird was no longer mocking, it was asking, it was praying but the cat striding down through centuries would not listen. I saw it crawl under a yellow car with the bird to bargain it to another place.
