Despite the furore over the last few days, buying in at this level looks like a good move, imho. This really is old news. pfd still has major challenges but it is a different beast to a year ago. Debt is now more manageable and the pension issue isn't so pressing. Darby has bought time to allow for it to recover but he has to deliver on sales and he needs to bring more new products and ranges to the market.
'Somewhat unfortunate' is rather an understatement! Gavin Darby must think readers have just fallen off the festive Christmas tree. The threat to delist was real. Their professional buyers, directed to follow this course must know their unethical tactics contravene their obligations, yet to disobey is more than their jobs are worth. What's happened to the sanctity of the contract? Premier do deals, fierecly negotitiate, then squeeze the lemon. This will come back to haunt them. Just wait.
Some of the Mr Kipling range yesterday but managed to take the products out of my basket before I got to the till, phew close call!! My one man boycott is hardly going to harm the company but makes me feel better...
this somewhat unfortunate matter to a conclusion. However, I do not think the fall on Friday was to do with matters relating to this press coverage. Rather, as I stated previously, PF is currently not flavour of the month, due to ''no news being interpreted as bad news'' This I hope will change early next year.
Allow me to apologise for trying to protect my employee's jobs and livelihoods when PFD effectively sacked us for not paying up after many years of reliable, competitive, efficient service and several occasions when emergency deliveries were made to keep their sites running. You consider this to be nonsense!! You clearly do not understand this industry or you would not consider protecting small company employee's jobs from bully boy tactics to be nonsense. Good luck with your investment but PFD have lost some key suppliers both small and large since introducing this 18 months ago so we shall see how the next 12 months go.
