Robbie, any successful investor would recheck their numbers if someone was telling them they were wrong.

You’re making a fundamental mistake, but still attempting to advice others. Utterly bonkers.

Well I have to hand this one to you DBNO, 70 does look feasible so well done, having said that it looks like it will form a pointy head formation (this is a technical description) so will bounce back up very fast , fortunately i don't trade live oil price, just shares which are far less volatile,

Robbie,

Trust me, PMO has done me fine on several occasions. I've ridden a couple of major 'storms' and been down more than you'll ever have to invest for a guess - suffice to say, I've come out the other side very nicely. This time round I've only been in for a relatively short time. I am glad that you have helped me by telling me what any successful investor should do ... I shall try to remember that.

I do my own research and numbers, but the statement was ambiguous - clarity was needed. Whether you had good intent or not, your calculations were unable to provide that necessary clarity and were, politely, tosh and meaningless.

I don't quite understand why you seem somewhat surprised / disbelieving that I or anyone else can contact IR - it's not hard. Perhaps that is reflective of your own level of maturity?

Best of luck in your endeavours.

ROSI,
Sorry but I was just trying to help you out as you need to do your own numbers. You may or may not have got info from IR, but what a company has said is already in the price. Any successful investor has to be looking ahead. I`ve got a feeling that you`ve probably been in this share for quite a time and are feeling a little jaded. I bought my first share at 67p a few months ago and have built a significant holding now on which I am running a very substantial profit. The share has a lot further to run it will be over £2 by year end but that is only the beginning. The present price makes it easy pickings for a predator. This really is the best opportunity I`ve seen in a few years. Every more up or down by a dollar in the oil price is real not what this is all about. The cash flow is now very significantly positive for the company going forward.

Givingthelowdown - oil not held those levels, its just broken below 72.4. its always better to wait to see if oil holds a level over a 4 hour time-frame for confirmation that the break has held. its bang on 4 hours now at 6pm and its not held. $70 oil is now in play. close price for oil is important but i don't think it will snap back.

DBNO you are wrong, Brent broke out into a new channel this afternoon, its just finding the new neckline which appears to be 72.4 ish so it will range 72.50-74 for a bit, will look like a lopsided double bottom once its done, 74-77 beckons, tomorrow PM, we finish week on 130-135p with strong volume, set up nicely for next week

Don't know on that front Yeah_baby, just needed to clarify what the statement in the latest TU meant. To be honest, I would have hoped debt could be reduced further than that with the recent prices, but I happy enough now I have an answer. I'll follow the II money for the time being.
I want a good solid investment and not trying to get 50 or 100% gains (although I wouldn't object lol). Personal opinion now - yep, SP is below what it should be and that is partly because of the POO volatility rather than the actual POO. I can wait quite a time if I believe in something.

Givingthelowdown - i don't think this bounce has much legs and will pull back before close.. the good news (if long oil or oil stocks) is that oil is still within a bullish channel up. BUT if that gets broken then $60 is possible. i'm sure the Saudis can live with $60 oil. what about a China slow down if this trade war continues? copper is now back at 2017 levels. brent just dropped $1 from today's high..

I'm presuming that means they've upped their guidance to $200m per $10 movement from $120

Detailed earlier Beatley, but incase anyone missed:

'At current oil prices' means $70-$75 per barrel; lower end = $300, upper end $400 (all, clearly, based on 85k production being achieved as one would reasonably expect).

6. (...and most importantly), I picked up the phone and IR answered my question quite categorically. (Why I hadn't done that prior is perhaps a different question, but I had hoped that someone would show me the error of my assumptions).

Hi ROS1, could you please share their response?

Robbie,

1. I don't dispute that at all - that was the whole question (you seem to have missed that crucial element)
2. You have not produced a cash flow - you have done some very simplistic multiplication and subtraction and generated a figure.
3. One cannot just choose what one likes for Capex et al. ...these are all essential to a cash flow.
4. Cash flow is one thing, the split of that to pay down debt is another. Did you even know how 'cash' was to be used / structured?
5. If you base your own investments on your own calculations and at face value, you are soon going to fall down a blinking great hole.
6. (...and most importantly), I picked up the phone and IR answered my question quite categorically. (Why I hadn't done that prior is perhaps a different question, but I had hoped that someone would show me the error of my assumptions).

Now, you can carry this one on at your leisure, but I for one, as stated, am really not interested in whatever argument you seem intent on progressing. Your information did not answer my question and was not helpful. I would normally thank you for a response, but you seem to have a different agenda.

GL with your own goals.

I think the Saudis have seen how the price has dropped over the last week or so with the speculation of over supply and will adjust there out put to suite agin imho I think they would like it at a more stable price of around $75..why would they ramp up to see the price just fall back down now that would be a stupid move from any business prospective..

Robbie11, your figures are wrong. Premier produces oil and gas, at $65 revenue would be roughly $1.6bln not the $2bln you're getting before you deduct $500m of OPEX.

Check the last set of results, multiply production by the realised oil price and you'll find a massive discrepancy between what you're expected at what the revenue was. Gas per BOE equivalent has a lower value than oil.

DBNO, this is what I think, forming neckline at the moment, will goto 74, then range for a bit between 73-74, before continuing next leg up

ROSI,
You admitted yourself this morning that you had no idea what management meant by "current prices". My figures demonstrate that at a price of $65 per barrel there a gross cash flow (sales less cost of production) of nearly $1.5bn. Choose whatever figures you like for capex, interest and management expenses after those amounts have been deducted there is a very healthy positive cash flow.
