Goldman Sachs

Broker heavyweight Goldman Sachs gave food for thought for investors today as it upgraded Premier Foods (LON:PFD) to 'buy' from 'neutral'.

Goldman has heated up its rating on the Birds’ Custard and Mr Kipling group, following a capital restructuring earlier in the year, and says the firm's valuation is now undemanding.

"We believe Premier Foods has sufficient debt facilities to fund the business through to the end of the decade, and do not expect any further equity raising," said analyst Benjamin Moore.

He has a six month target on the stock of 90 pence, which implies 54% upside from the current price, it said.

don't think it's the number of times, but the timing itself. ie just a matter of time, before the markets ''sniff out'' the month of July. I would say 62p will be broken next week.

Get the point. However, last week without this news PF went to 63p. We really shoudn't be ''jumping for joy'' at anything less than 80p. Quite simply, the SP should never have gone to 53p!!!

A Goldman Sachs upgrade to buy from neutral helped Premier Foods put on 3.75p to 61.5p. The broker reckons the valuation is undemanding on an unlevered basis and attractive on an equity basis. It lifted its six-month target price to 90p from 75p.
