"Sky News can reveal that Gulf Keystone Petroleum is poised to say that its board is considering a sale or merger amid protracted talks with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) over delayed payments for oil exports."
All I can say is they will need to issue something in response, and once the news lands forget 44p whichever way it goes. The time to act is now IMO, either sell if you believe it won't materialise or buy if you think it will.
How do I know? Some undeclared fund who wants out maybe?
So lets get this straight. You're now saying that perhaps some undeclared fund went to Reuters or Sky or GKP and said 'please could we put out a rumour of a takeover so I can sell out at a higher price'
You are wrong. Anything, ANYTHING that could be considered price sensitive information that effects this listing MUST have an RNS issued.
I suspect what will happen is the GKP will issue an RNS later today/tomorrow stating they note press speculation and refer to the previous RNS where they say they are looking to raise finance, but have not received a bid yet.
