People seem amazed that the Chinese are so keen to invest in us but just consider this:
Trinidad – Geology and Oil Prospects
• Trinidad lies within the Eastern Venezuelan Basin, with the petroleum of Trinidad generated by prolific Upper Cretaceous source rocks, equivalent to the La Luna and Querecual formations in Colombia and Venezuela
• Range’s blocks are located in the mature Southern Basin. The total production to date from this basin exceeds 1.5 billion barrels of oil
• There are significant resources of oil and gas remaining to be found in the various geologic basins of Trinidad & Tobago – estimated at 2-3 bn bbl of oil yet to be found
• In addition there are estimated further 3 bln bbl which is potentially recoverable using enhanced recovery methods (Krishna M. Persad PhD, President, Geological Society of Trinidad and Tobago)
Double egg & chips, Handsome. OAP special today at Celtic Manor for £15 a head - with proper Welsh butter on bread. Thanks for nice comments - hopefully a friendly day of dross on board, as compared to the usual heated day of cobblers.
Will try not to watch too closely from now on as unlikely to be much trade unless we get some news. Yesterday was a dead trading day, it seems - with very small sells and buys in UK and Oz making a huge difference to price.
It seems a bit like bargain hunt - with a lot of buyers in the room but standing at the back and watching. One or two like bh007 have stepped forward, snapped a bargain and sold next day for a well-publicised profit - but not many as clever as him.
Stock has been valued at 3.7p - and still is - by Cantors. Some buyers have scribbled down 5 point something as their top bid, according to Rich the Dealer. Confidence in New Range is still v fragile. A few still will sell below a penny in this first week back, but 98% plus won't and have probably set their first reserve price at well over a penny.
Never a very dull moment with Range, but a watched pot never boils. So plan to be out today and tomorrow and apologies now to my fans.
Afren has missed yet another debt payment and are in default-again. Months later than previously expected the recapitalisation is now due next week where rape and pillage will be on view. Surely one for the business school handbooks of just how quickly a management can destroy a company in such a limited time frame with all the ingredients that one normally comes to expect when looking at organisations like FIFA. - See more at: malcysblog dot com/2015/06/oil-price-primeline-northern-sundry-soco-afren-thalassa-weir-and-finally/#.dpuf
Given that RRL has its core producing properties in Trinidad and Tobago, this is an outstanding PRO article about neighboring Colombia, the energy producers from that area, the energy deals and the acquisition metrics:

You have as much chance of reasoned analysis on here as you have of reasoned debate at Question Time in the House of Commons, Rex.
Fortunately, the detailed analysis seems to take place now between Yan Lui, David Chen, the chap in Trinidad and Nick Beatty. No analysis at all on RIG shoutbox or iii, not much useful on WS and I doubt those mentioned above ever read this board or are in any way interested. This board if for mental therapy and gloating about how much people have made or lost. And any attempt at more than that is soon shot down in a barrage of petulance and pride.
