It appears that many have differing views on BMR Watch as a group/alliance/a mouthpiece. Why is the watch perceived as a pressure group, why not a group that has the interest and success of BMR at heart. We all want AB to succeed and no doubt that is his intention, there must be a success fee in that contract. It's how it's measured and in his view how those stretch goals can be met to achieve a satisfactory amount of compensation and reward. The Watch can hopefully communicate internally and externally and discuss matters with the company if certain proposals are tabled. As shareholders we have voting rights and like an institution with sizeable holdings dialogue can be opened.
The level of communication and contribution from any group has clearly defined perameters. I would hope that the board would listen to any opinion on a motion if the group can agree upon such. We are by and large impotent as to the day to day workings. We are not capable of making sensible, pragmatic decisions without information. We trust in our compensated board to make informed decisions.
However, I do believe that the information given to stakeholders should be accurate and as transparent as possible. . BMR have made several turns and we now cannot rely on information previously reported. We must wait for the publication of the annual report. I'm sure that the BB will dissect all parts of the Chairmanship statement.
I do feel there is an overreaction in some quarters to the group and it's ability to influence BMR in any way. We are shareholders, we should have accurate and truthful information on which to base our investment decisions.
