Hi luton Good point , yes they did get ENEO to connect up to the grid but they haven`t got a seperate mains power point direct to the power station just a new local transformer , so if there is a power cut Dangotes power stops aswell , also they have now built their own power plant house on site . I am not sure if there is a generator on the new site but General Electric are supplying Generators to all Dangotes sites that dont have reliable electric , the grid will be just a back up .the factory manager did state to the press that the grid is only for a short period until their own power is connected . though ENEO bought out Sonel there still is a great shortfall in power , so many powercuts this is why I can see ENEO building a further power station , even two more in time.
AJ Well you can be assured that a lot would have been produced in testing and putting the factory through it`s pace`s . what we do know Dangote is about to go into full production . As for the Divi shares on that other share they got mixed up with another address , but should be in my account next week . i see you got ticked up , this would be done by blackpuss as he only ticks up anything that has the slightest bit of negitive in a post . but you all can be reasurred that VOG is not far from being a nice investment with a fantastic amount of gas , it`s own pipeline and own market that will just keep growing and at a fast rate very soon .
Hi Jim The only reason why Dangote are not currently using gas for the lot is because they got a deal for electricity for the plant at a rate that VOG could not compete with , If the electricity supply proves unreliable then they may choose to change to VOGs gas . If there are no problems then they will probably stay as they are for economy. If there have been problems with the main power supply during commissioning which may have been the case then VOGs gas will be a more expensive but more reliable alternative. Would it be a viable economic proposition for Dangote to buy out VOG . Yes it would , but so would it be for a host of other potential predators. Massive no no to deter prospective purchasers , the Grimm connection and all the relative financial considerations that would come with. Otherwise imo it woud be VOG going going gonel.
Just as the Bowleven onshore drills have a Senegales partner with a focus only on gas........Vog could have a JV partner to finance deeper drills for oil , while VOG retained 100% interest in gas.? Mel
