Well if they are it will be from the grid with GDC supplying thermal, well thats the information we have. Its the terminology "Power Plant" that Dangote have used which may just be translation? I would be interested to understand the impact power stations supplied by gas will have to brown outs across the industrial market will these two connections allow for further thermal connections and increase our existing usage?
Well the thing is it's each to his own on the definition. I think they were running and using some gas pre-Christmas as they actually told reporters, but the plant may still not be fully commissioned and producing cement at full capacity.
I really don't know what stage it's at, but I do believe they will hold off telling the market, Dangote that is, until all problems are ironed out. They'll look like a bunch of idiots if they announce a successful take off and then confess to a crash landing. Consequently VOG cannot tell shareholders, it stupid to think they can disclose sensitive information without the clients permission and VOG shareholders are entitled to statements. That does not mean Dangote are not taking gas.
Demand for gas to power increases. (Ecofin Fides) - The Kribi Power Development Corporation (KPDC), the company that manages the Kribi gas power plant with a capacity of 216 MW, launched this January 17, 2015 in Douala and on the website of Mpolongwé, consultations public environmental impact study conducted as part of the project to extend the energy infrastructure. According to the statement issued to this effect by KPDC, controlled company Globeleq, consultation will be held from January 27 to February 25, 2015.
This expansion project will increase the production capacity of the gas plant from 216 to 330 MW. The work for which KPDC has already contracted with Finland's Wartsila will cost 65 billion CFA francs, we learn officially. According to our sources, KPDC hopes to complete in the first quarter 2015, negotiations with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to finance the work.
But in parallel, we learn, discussions are underway between KPDC and Cameroonian banks to mobilize additional financing to complete the expected long-term loan from the IFC.
They haven`t told us all the connections that was why a lot of folk were moaning about it , what VOG seem to be doing now is letting us know once they know their average , if I remember rightly VOG has told us they have connected dangote but Dangotes factory wasnt running at the time , now they are waiting on averages , it stops wrong targets ,
