I gind it hard to believe that these nutters can actually post as a " fact" , ergo a lie, that XEL are having a rig built specifically for them in China.Apart from the fact its obviously bollx its also far beyond the realms of bb banter, it`s a travesty of normal behavior. Ask them for proof and they merely insult, bit like being nudged by a dead sheep, but they try!
Ugiebear, I claimed no such thing. What I actually said was that had statoil purchased the bentley license back when they bought Mariner and Bressay licenses they would have no doubt found a suitable way to extract the oil.
Xcite don't have some magic intellectual property relating to the extraction of oil. It's a fairly simple process that is well understood. Earlier license holders well tests failed for a variety of reasons, none of which were solved by Xcite specific know how.
It is well established that Bentley and Bressay have similar characteristics. If Xcite's EWT data yielded information that Statoil had not previous obtained from their Bressay field, it makes absolutely perfect sense to buy the data. So much cheaper than doing more well tests, or making assumptions without the additional data? At $15M an absolute steal, and again, peanuts to Statoil.
Maybe Statoil believed they could get enough data from a cheaper vertical well test than a more expensive horizontal EWT like Xcite did. Maybe they made a poor assumption that there was no further optimisation that could be done. I don't know, none of us know.
Clearly there is some synergy between the companies (and Enquest), that and the massive reserves are really the only reason I remain invested here. What I take issue with is your insistence that Xcite have this 'IP'. If they really did have intellectual property that was the key to unlocking heavy oil around the world, Xcite would not remain unloved and untouched after all these years.
