share buy back v growing dividends

It would be nice to see a progressive and aggressive share buyback programme started.
this could start with Lloyds seeking the funding with a new bond to buy back the shares of HRMC. I for one would certainly buy into this as it would release the shackles imposed by HRMC.

…and whilst I'm on my high horse this morning SP61GHT has a point.. Dreadful spelling .

As far as I'm aware predictive text (your excuse for misspelt words) puts a word in as you type that you weren't about to use. There's also a form of spellcheck on here..Anyway, it takes 30 seconds to read over a post for errors, that's what I do and at least minimise mistakes . Even predictive text wouldn't come up with 'dowt'

Time for a cuppa…..

First off…..No. it is not reasonable to ask 'how much did the prince bribe the USA and the UK/Europe' I note you don't ask..'did..or could the Prince have bribed etc. but 'how much'. You've decided,it seems, from the form of that question, that you are of the belief that he has bribed those nations because your question is 'by how much ?' You have no grounds whatsoever to think that may be the case..otherwise you would have stated that.

Hopefully this article will enlighten you some http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/may/26/prince-ali-reports-criminal-approach-offering-47-fifa-votes-information-sepp-blatter

Secondly..why is your post headed 'Irony'..Where is the Irony ?

Thirdly... why do you put parenthesis around the word prince as if his status wasn't bona fide ? He's a Jordanian Prince, third son of the late King Hussein for goodness sake. Would you do that for Prince William or Prince Harry. ? Or are foreign princes suspect ?

If all this isn't enough you state 'as far as I understand the the prince has no experience/qualifications for that post' 'So far as I understand'. Then you don't understand very well. Why would UEFA,US,Belarus,Malta Georgia and Australia back someone who doesn't have the experience required ?

Here are some facts about his qualifications to head FIFA

Is currently Asia's Vice President on the FIFA committee(since 2011)

Founded the West Asian Football Federation

President of Jordan FA (since 1999)

He has openly criticised the working conditions of those involved in the 2022 build in Qatar..to date 1200 foreign workers have been killed. and not all by accidents..many with heart failure due to the excessive heat and hard work Last year, for Nepalese workers the death rate was one every two days .

He's openly called for the full disclosure of the Garcia report into the bidding process..the corruption..of the Russia and Qatar bids and subsequent wins.

By the way..he's also a commissioned officer from Sandhurst Military Academy (1994)

I sincerely hope that if he has another opportunity he will succeed..from everything I've read about him he's a top man.

Some truth in that I suspect.

Just hope and pray the US don't turn their attention to Wall Street.... But can't see why, no corruption there or the Fed. Never cr@p on your own doorstep, the Kremlins will do nicely..

Why have the Americans taken the lead, one has to ask the question. Watch this space after the indictments are complete and FIFA is torn apart with this - the next step will be the nullification of the Russian bid. This is about the US hurting the Russians financially - methinks.
