LEGENDS, you've been saying all will be revealed very shortly for months. You also say it's statoil and CNOOC one day, then sinopec involvement another day. Are you trying to cover all bases so you can eventually say you were right?

I've also lost count of the number of times you have said the next RNS is "the one".

Statoil
21 May '15
What you have to remember is XER and Statoil have been working on Bentley and Bressay for exactly 7 years now.

Xcite Energy Limited ("Xcite Energy" or the "Company"), a heavy oil company focused on the development of discovered resources in the UK North Sea, is pleased to announce that it has concluded an agreement to trade key well data (the "Agreement") with Statoil (U.K.) Limited, the UK arm of StatoilHydro, the Norwegian oil major with a significant international position in heavy oil and responsible for around half of the proven, but not yet developed, heavy oil deposits on the UK continental shelf. This Agreement follows from ongoing dialogue with StatoilHydro that commenced in 2007 and is another step forward in the progression of the heavy oil sector in the UK North Sea.

The Agreement allows for the pre-exchange of data from the 9/3b-5 appraisal well on the Bentley field, successfully drilled by Xcite Energy, which will be reciprocated with the data from the 3/28a-F(6) appraisal well on the StatoilHydro operated Bressay field, which is anticipated to be completed by mid November 2008. The Bressay field is located principally in Blocks 3/27 and 3/28, adjacent and to the north-west of Block 9/3b.

Richard Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Xcite Energy, commented:

"This agreement to trade well data is an important step forward towards a wider data sharing environment for heavy oil in the UK North Sea, which in turn will potentially accelerate development of the heavy oil sector in the region. It is also another step forward for Xcite Energy as we focus on maximising the value of the Company's resources and move towards a development solution for the Bentley field, one of the largest undeveloped heavy oil fields in the North Sea"

director changes
21 May '15
It all kicked off with Andrew, February 2014-
http://www.xcite-energy.com/investors/regulatory-news/rns-news/11852355

Then we have two in a row MOU RNS releases-
http://www.xcite-energy.com/investors/regulatory-news/rns-news/11916434
http://www.xcite-energy.com/investors/regulatory-news/rns-news/11918882

Then after the newly appointed CFO and director we get the ELF-

This when it gets very juicy and interesting-
http://www.xcite-energy.com/investors/regulatory-news/rns-news/11942690

Two days later we are hit hard with this one-
http://www.xcite-energy.com/investors/regulatory-news/rns-news/11946517

So one out two in- Roger Ramshaw has retired as Chairman for personal reasons and has resigned from the Board with immediate effect.

Trust me this was many, many months in the planning. Director appointments don't happen over night. Especially Mr Wilson.

So why did Roger really have to leave?-

A wee hint- Talisman Sinopec Energy UK Limited

All will be revealed very shortly.....

Good to see a rise here today, a long way to go!! Xel need a credible plan that is financially backed but I think Statoil will dictate the pace for any & all parties concerned

Still optimistic we'll get a party sometime but loads mpr yet:-)...take care, laters

Tight ship...
21 May '15
XEL are evidently still a very tight ship and any significant news will come straight out of the blue - just like the recent reserves upgrade, which likely caught a few people out IMO.

Dragon
21 May '15
Hmmm interesting that the jump coincided somewhat with the "rumours" of a take over but the actual RNS wasn't released until 4pm.

That would be odd for XEL to jump on takeover rumours for Dragon... would it not?
