sage, I am confused…. why does this all fit, do you mean the placing and then this note, the headline I found a bit by accident when looking at the latest buy/sell info. Completely lost now, info on it like retirement of key bods in TNEB, China headline, Brazil status.
"customer pull"..Apparently not turned our back on china..or they on us. "Cyan remains well placed for significant growth Pipeline now much broader than 6 months ago = reduced shareholder risk Smart metering deployment in India now driven by Ministry of Power Developed opportunity (through local partners) for smart metering and smart lighting in Brazil. UKTI sponsored field trip enabled validation Lighting opportunity in China seems to be changing from “Cyan push” to “customer pull”. New smart metering opportunity in China also identified New retro-fit metering product developed for customer in Brazil, now being cross-marketed to India through partners, then on to other markets Management team remain highly motivated & confident"
more far reaching than anything anyone has seen I`ll warrant. Shame I cant buy today...have to wait for T3 to clear..missed opportunity.. :( "Newsflow and Orders 1. Order in negotiation from Tata Power Mumbai for production implementation of full AMI. 5KU initial order & deployment, total opportunity >400KU. Private utility serving consumers and industrial. Customer has extensively evaluated Cyan technology – no known competition. System Integrator is Larsen & Toubro (close to Tata Power Mumbai). 2. Pondicherry smart grid pilot viewed a success. Two Cyan partners (Capital & L&T participated). Now authorised to tender for 87,000 smart meters. 3. First two smart grid pilots sponsored by Indian Govt now out in Gujarat and Mysore. Cyan aligning with System Integrator & meter manufacturer partners for bidding. Not well organised with (very) complex tender spec, technical requirements that are contradictory and process delays. Total of 14 smart grid pilots expected. 4. L&T will be launching their new smart meter at Elecrama 8-12 Jan 2014. This meter is fully AMI compliant, contains the Cyan module & uses Cyan Open Meter Protocol. They expect to start shipping in Q1/Q2 2014 5. Capital (Cyan meter partner) working on a 70KU AMR opportunity in Haryana, which is a strong fit for Cyan technology China Update Qingdao Techen Electronic Technology ($400M revenues, of which $100M from metering) has re-engaged with Cyan after disappearing for 9 months (presumably looking at other options). They are now asking Cyan to integrate Cyan’s RF mesh technology into their meters. Techen have strong relationship with China Southern Grid & State Grid (the two electricity utilities in China). Cyan will also seek sales in export markets. Cyan is confident of further news flow and orders in 2014."
