Agree. Lovely people. We didn't go to the mainland but to Skiathos last year, liked it so much we booked over there to go again this year. BUT…Lol...I wish, when moms collect their infants/youngsters from school, they didn't carry two of their offspring on the scooter and without crash helmets..makes me shudder. They appear,in general, to have little regard,if any,for their own safety.

The Year of the Horse !!
26 Jan '15
This Chinese New year starts on the 19th February about a week before or just in time for the Lloy results on 27th Feb.
The Year of the horse has been a rough ride for those backing the Black horse!
2015 — a Goat Year ! Will the Goat ride be a better one? Hope so

Greece

Lets just imagine for a moment or two

Left wing gov in control
Rich start to get taxed and no avoidance
Just think what that will do for the tax coffers

There will be no mass re employment of all the bureaucrats and public servants
Not popular but it will be accepted because the rich will be paying their fair share

They will get a slightly better deal from the EU
Because they will have grasped the nettle of the non paying rich tax dodgers

Greece is a lovely country to go to holiday and they like the brits too
They are not too keen on the Germans
So you can see their hearts are in the right place LOL

Let's speculate shall we - nothing else to do for the next 10 minutes.
A 1.2p divi will cause II's to compulsorily purchase more LLOY stock. If it passes critical mass, then this stock should lift somewhat. I would expect the SP to remain above 80p with a divi AND profit ahead of analysts predictions.
Between end of Feb and the GE - assuming no volitility, she will swing between 80p and 85p, methinks. A cameron win will propel this stock (probably the FTSE too!) to close to £1 by the end of 2015 methinks.
Troubles ahead: latent PPI claims, Oil rises, Interest rates rising (though this could actually be a good boost for LLOY), more stress testing by the BoE.

My own view is that there will be other issues that will affect this share price far more than a divi announcement of a penny or so. However its not unusual for a share to increase/decrease in value by a lot more than the actual amount declared. Results are sure to be good at end of February and I can see this rising throughout 2015 from here in due course.

Greece

The new incoming economy minister stated that he does NOT intend to Grexit in any shape or form! That is why the markets have calmed down. Greece are not in a position to argue with the ECB about its debt, all they will do is renegotiate slightly more gently repayment terms. Less repayments for longer. The Syriza party will then make this out to be a raging success story and sit back and enjoy their moment of power for the first time in 60 years. They will not, in any way jeopardise this under any circumstanmces. Too much fiddling and corruption to be getting on with!!
Greece has had its death sentence delayed for 5 - 10 years as a consequence, but this nation is surely DOOMED to economic failure and will return to a full blown third world country as we know it.
FTSE has already dusted itself off and the DOW will do the same this afternoon. Business as usual.
LLOY continues to flop cock between 74 and 77 quite merrily until twenty something of Feb when it will rise significantly upwards of 79+ with impending news of a divi for 2014 of 1.2p. The end!
