Overman, you come across as a deeply strange individual, posting "burn baby burn" and making very little sense and lying about BP investing in XEL, which they have not.

If I go into Tesco Extra and buy some broccoli, it doesn't mean I'm investing in Tesco does it?

As for your salt in the wound metaphor, I am doing no such thing, considering I'm an XEL investor that would be rather strange. I just get fed up with people like you who are unwilling to discuss the terrible situation here in any meaningful way.

and remember...

Heavy oil now cheaper to extract.

All due to XEL's work and outstanding EWT results on the Bentley field.

With an estimated 9 billion barrels of well documented heavy oil deposits in UK waters alone, Bentley will just be the beginning IMO. And remember - the oil industry is a cyclical business and crude prices will not remain at these levels for ever.

The best time to invest for maximum returns in any company, is when prices are suppressed.

RE: Oil doesn't flow?

Then of course there are the esteemed members of the Bentley Development Group, all of whom are leaders in their respective fields, and will no doubt have conducted their own stringent due diligence checks.

Notably Teekay who featured the Bentley EWT prominently on it's own company website.

'Following the successful completion of flow tests in 2010, Xcite approached Teekay for innovative ideas to support the Pre-Production Extended Well Test (EWT) in order to further appraise the field.

Teekay developed an innovative proposal and nominated the DP 2 Shuttle Tanker Scott Spirit.

On July 5th 2012, the vessel connected to a 1.8 km long flexible pipeline which was linked to the rig Rowan Norway, ready to receive the oil. 73 days later, Scott Spirit had approximately 210,000 bbls of export quality Bentley blend crude on board – the test was successfully completed.'

So there you have it - 210,000 barrels of 'export quality' (Teekays term) Bentley crude, successfully flowed for 73 days through a 1.8km pipeline. In the 5 degree waters of the North Sea.

Which is just one of the reasons why Teekay have came back for more and signed up with the Bentley Development Group.

800,000 barrels leaving Bentley (every fortnight or thereabouts), being of course another...

BP and flow
Today 08:09
BP long term involvement and support well known and with little effort information there for anyone to see

An awful lot of oil managed to flow into a tanker and fill it up not that long ago and was sold

I am not sure but I seem to recall BP involvement there too

Main problem here has been that the field is so much bigger than thought meaning change of plans

Interesting thing to see what BP do next and this will only become public knowledge when it happens

Possibly Chinese involvement will bring it forward

Oil doesn't flow?
What nonsense from Rowman and ceilingcat.
Of course the oil flows.
Refer to the 3 month EWT tests for proof of that!
Not only does it flow but the oil collected during the EWT tests was sold.
Some people here seem to have short memories...or deliberately misinform

Engineering work

is finished.
""we have advanced our reservoir modelling to provide more subsurface certainty as part of our overall reserves strategy, which will be incorporated into an updated Reserves Assessment Report in due course"

The upcoming RAR will tell us just HOW big Bentley actually is.
