after their unhappy divorce with Russian 'partners' are an average of 30pc down on revenues and oil reserves..
Perhaps, after finalising the final bill for their american disaster, they will know how much cash they have for new aquisitions. They have all but lost Russia and they have been beaten to the Alaska resources,,by the Russians yet again, so they will be looking for virgin territory. That could be either Cyprus or, hopefully, Falkland areas.
This is purely conjecture, but what a golden opportunity for a big player to pick up some relatively cheap prospects.
This will not happen overnight, but any in the South Atlantic could be fair game for them at a very manageable T/O price.
