Investors Chronicle

Internet advertising is still only worth a fraction of that spent on prime television spots, but advertisers have been following consumers online at an increasing rate, to the benefit of profits, at a time when online video consumption makes up just over half of all internet traffic. The effect of Blinkx's operational gearing was most apparent when the effect of acquisitions is stripped out - underlying operating profits soared by 135 per cent to $24.6m (£16m) as growth in revenue outpaced costs.

Peel Hunt target under review
Tue 06:13
(....a more realistic short term target coming.....)
Buy: BLINKX
Snap up shares in Blinkx, Peel Hunt urges. The broker is cheered by yesterday's final numbers from the video advertising business and praises management for "delivering impressive growth". It adds that shares in the firm are "an exciting way into a high-growth market". They are 115p and the target (previously 103p) is under review.

Valueclick
13 May '13
Re the FT article, I had not heard of Valueclick. They are a US company providing ad campaigns, probably not with such good tech presumably! They produced $660m of income last year. Perhaps more importantly they purchased Greystripe for $70m in April 2011 , the MOBILE ad network. Are blinkx behind the curve?

Advertising ?

First video on the Blinkx site today .
Very clever knowing that the site will no doubt get lots of new visitors due to the press coverage.
Can't help but notice how a facebook like feel to things seems to be creeping in. ..I wonder ?

Much effort went into spelling out, in simple words and pictures, how Blnx works and makes its money for the benefit of simple analysts with the hope that London will finally "get it". What was more interesting to the longs here was all the hints, nods, winks and things left unsaid. Can hardly wait for the next shoe to fall.
Incidentally, I had no idea that the cheep tech is involved with RTB but thinking about it I suppose it is logical.

They may have banked $100m by this time next year but it may be necessary to act sooner

With this set of numbers and the momentum leading to twice upward revisions at the end of H2 I don't see why we can't make a new high in 2013.
All it takes imo is updated guidance and BM seems interested to provide more frequent TUs
