Its the way of AIM travelling is better than arriving. By the time many of thes explorers are producing anything of note the oil price will be back down at rockbottom ( a couple of years is oprimistic lead time in many cases unless of course they are exploring already producing areas which is another matter entirely) .
Crazy. Cashflow is the name of the game. The one that really beats me is how anyone can get excited about exploring or producing oil (if that ever happens) on the other side of the world in inhospitable seas miles away from anywhere with hostile neightbours. But they did and SP of RKH etc soared.. And fraccing in the UK ? What a non starter that is or if it is it'll be so far down the line that by then we'll find it cheaper to import it from the Cameroons !! or offshore UK or perhaps importing it from US. Thats without all the fuss from the environmentalists. Most frustrating it all is especially with VOG languishing at 1.5p. Gotta look on the bright side as I am sure the market will soon recognise its true worth.

We should get an RNS at the end of this month. It should coincide with the annual report. It is only of concern if we hear nothing by 4 June.
They have said that although the odd thermal customer is being added, the amount of gas sold is roughly the same amount as a result of numerous power failures continually around Douala, so earnings growth remains similar to January 2013. If a customer has a power failures they have outage on gas used if they are thermal user only.
The demand for power supply gen sets is growing strongly and materialises in Q3 because of general need and from these power outages. So the only good news there is an update of what is in the country re gen sets and if they are still on target and who is signed up. The pipeline 2 is around 8.3 km and they finished 1 km back in March. So we should here how much more is built and when it will be finished.
VOG got the Soc Gen monies, half straight away ($15M) and the other half to come was formulated through a number of banks and expected to be drawn down when needed when Geb sets are to be procured later in the year. We should see formal conclusion probably when the legal hearing is completed.
The legal dispute arbitration hearing in Texas is 24 June. So we hear the results on 25th June as it will impact on SP.
It would be nice to hear more often than just having a quarterly report. However the new investors that came on board in Feb wanted VOG to do what most FTSE companies do and report quarterly and not by every individual tiny event.
West Med and Kermokel sales have not progressed yet and are likely to come out of the blue. Gazprom nearby to West Med has several gas wells depleting that need eventual replacement. They have $17M dollars available in 2013 for acquisitions of new gas and oil wells. West Med is well within their budgets if they wanted to extend their pipeline and to have a good quality new well nearby. The delay on any sale to Gazprom is due to world demand as Gazprom is competing with liquified Australian Gas and USA surplus gas supplies on what they supply to Europe. Renaissance are overseeing more work on the West Med well so as to ready it attractive on future disposal.
The fact that no info has appeared to date suggests that no event either bad or good is strong enough to influence the SP around the 1.6p-1.65 mark. Otherwise we would have heard something.
VOG is a developing utility company but is often traded with gas and oil explorers. Eventually it will track utilities in future years.
The share price has been in a dip of late but that may be a good buying opportunity. The alternative is riding the high FTSE market and hoping to avoid a downward correction on shares typically trading 17PE. Forward PE for VOG this December is just 2 but does require hitting earnings target.
