And so why would he come over to London, hunt at a Xmas gift, and talk to the better zones ... when he could have done a conference call??? I don’t think he came all this way for Xmas shopping though he could be partial to British Pheasant for dinner

Hematite blocking flow
Wed 14:06
So today we get via a non-regulated podcast from Zaza the reason why flow rates are not as predicted. Apparently, Hematite added to the mud by the previous operator to increase the mud weight is blocking the flow. The good news is that it will clean up in time.

Typical that this would happen to FRR isn't it? So doing a bit of googling it turns out that Hematite is an iron oxide which is ground to very tiny particle sizes before being added to the mud. Schlumberger say 30-50 micron sizes.

I've not been able to find a single other reference to this problem online after a bit of searching. In any case why would operators add something to the drilling mud which would potentially restrict flow? I realize the USSR wells were looking for oil but a quick google shows that Hematite can also be used in nat gas wells.

As usual more excuses and never a result. I see the empasis in the podcast now was shifting away from UD2 and onto the oil wells.

Got to keep those plates spinning while YA and others they sell more shares I suppose.

Anyone get spiked in the rise today?
