Big sell

Big sell off I wouldn’t worry too much about that, it’s probably a big institution just moving some money around.

HSBC bank sold 177 mill of shares somewhere between the 2nd April and the 6th of May this year and Blackrock Investment Management sold 150 mill somewhere between May11 and March13 but Blackrock still hold 2.96 Billion VOD shares.

However still worth keeping an eye out in the morning for news

In essence most agree with a 5% + yield at today's SP with its assets and network. VOD stock is undervalued based on recent valuations , no brainer to sit and wait for inevitable gains

The MM and many brokers don't like VodLl because it is cash rich with a growing market and a good divi from VW and they can't manipulate the price much, if at all!
The Americans don't like Vod.l because it holds VW and they hate having to admit that Vod.l made a great decision in taking that partnership but even more they dislike paying a British company a divi and also the fact that they cant manipulate the price of Vod.l down so they can make a take over bid!

Good point, the current market cap is £96 billion, which means if the Verizon Wireless stake is valued at approximately £100 billion then the rest of Vodafone is worth a negative amount, which obviously does not make sense. Ultimately of course the share price like any other commodity trades at what people are prepared to pay and whether the true value will be reflected in the share price is anyone's guess, the price seems to be based more on sentiment than the real asset and income value.

Ok i'm confused, if VOD have Verizon assets worth over $100M why is the whole company only worth $148.43M?

Cheers :)

The convention is you bid 40% over asset value for control in a takeover -Vodafone must not sell the asset cheap and needs a bid premium. $100 m is an opening bid but do not accept less than $160 m plus Google - Starbucks- Amazon and all the other serial tax dodgers agreeing to pay 10 years back tax plus a 100% fine
