Ma is already a rich man and will probably never retire. He lives to work and I remember many years ago speaking to the pr guy Gary (red socks) he said Ma will never retire and will probably end up dying on a airplane on his way to shin another deal..
I was thinking along the same lines IE MA's key value is his African connections and ability to find and sort Projects for development. It will be interesting to see it unfold, we are in uncharted territory now , it could be any resource and certainly not restricted to Zambia. It's an interesting prospect , I was always thinking that Kabwe would be better sold
to the idea of HNGB (great that those keys are all next to each other) will buy us out at some point. The blurb suggests they will need us permanently for our core competence which is to bring together disparate small scale artisan outfits, deal with the licenses, legalities, liaise with the ZG etc. and for them then to sell the unified entity on to another Chinese company. As ljc suggests, Kabwe may be ripe for offloading once the process is proven viable. I think MA would love to ditch the tricky tailings there for a cool £100m or so. Then on to the next packaged up tidbit, presumably Ndola.
