Yes. Absolutely. Glencore have a weak hand for as long as they're dependent on Chinese infrastructure.

That's why it's so logical for the Chinese to take a stake in the Zanaga project. It then becomes a win-win. Chinese Buy-out of ZIOC would tick all the boxes.

As a negotiating ploy, GLEN/ZIOC are talking about small scale development. In any negotiation you have to have an option to say 'no deal, we'll do it without you

Chinese will buy out ZIOC and only then will the port, etc be announced and ground broken.

Chinese influence, good or bad?

Ok so we have E/permit, we know the Chinese have the port infrastructure to build, but Iron Ore is not the only mineral to ultimately to be destined to be fed through this port. So question.....does this mean that the Chinese have a strong relationship with the government and can then steer rates to their benefit for tonnage through the port and thus control what and when gets shipped, does this mean that we could also have a weakness in the project delivery costs that could effect any buy in price, because they hold strong cards at port level ??? I hope not, but they are no mugs.

This would not be sitting at 13p from 25p if there was any reality of takeover or stake in zioc.

4kandles Chinese are building everything in Congo. Research. Doesn't mean they want to rule over Congo. Does it?

The Chinese will not break ground on the new port and other infrastructure until they have the Zanaga iron ore deal that they want.

Why would they?

If the Chinese went ahead with the port with no certainty about the demand for it they'd be fools. The Chinese are no fools.

The Zanaga project cannot be realised without the port and other infrastructure in place. Why would Glencore spend more to develop at Zanaga without guaranteed access to market? They wouldn't. Glencore are not fools either.

So we have a chicken/egg situation. An interlocking set of supply and demand partners which need to cooperate or everyone loses.

The simple solution is for the Chinese to take a stake in the Zanaga project whilst simultaneously confirming the port and other infrastructure deals. Any business strategist can understand this.

The deal will come - big all-encompassing announcement involving RoC, China, Gelcore and ZIOC. Before Xmas?
after Xmas? next summer? who knows. The deal will come - the forces of potential profit are too strong.

PS it's my belief that the Chinese will take ZIOC's share
