RE: RRL

Greetings from the TRIN board...I posted this on the TRIN board but I am posting it here also because it is so pertinent:

There is an article out reporting that Trinidad is selling oil $3 better than WTI...this might have more to do with global demand than anything else.

It will be interesting to see whether the POO that we all receive is fair, as things stand...

it looks like:

10% rule of thumb Discount to WTI (20% to Brent)
Royalties
ORR (combined 30%)
Other taxes and levies
SPT (22-30%)

Anyone want to bid (as in lump out actual cash for the privilege of the above?!) in the "exciting" new shallow water auction early next year?

The fiscal regime in Trinidad cannot go on relying on the patience of shareholders and needs to change.

IMHO Trinidad needs to make drilling CAPEX allowable 100% against SPT (rather than ~20%).

This would stimulate companies to grow supply which the Country wants and needs, is profoundly simple to implement, allows companies to plan around a step tax where they have an incentive to drill when oil is high & can be defensive when oil is low...and is a strong step towards a system that stops fraying the nerves of the whole oil industry in Trinidad (including Petrotrin).

Everyone has to pay tax (don't i know it!) but not everyone has to own shares in companies that are taxed so absurdly...which is why there is current weakness in the Trinidad Oiler share price while oil is actually pretty strong.

GO and dust off the recommended plans Colm...

If you agree - ping your management voicing how F*cked the system is

I stumbled upon this rrl thread during my browsing. It's been a tough ride for many of the lths here and I feel sorry that they've been let down. However, AIM isn't at fault. I believe fundamentals of the company are a let down. I've been invested in BMN for few years because of the fundamentals. It was in a worse situation than rrl 2 years back but investors held in because of the fundamentals. You should all see it's trajectory and read up on the company. Currently at 35p, it's expected to sit at multiples of that in months from now. Do your research and read up on that thread. Might take away some of this pain and maybe add a touch of good positivity that is much needed. I wish you all the very best. Best wishes

Hi Phil. Looks like the majority of the original LTH crew have probably given up and sold out. After ten years or so, my Holding is worth Pennies now. It's Hardly worth cashing them in for a few quid and I cannot see any real chance of RRL coming good again. A few rises for the Trader's here and there, but I don't think the AIM has been much good for long termer's for years. Very disappointing. However, the Markets may rally on news of a Brexit deal, but it may not have much of an effect until it's Set in Stone?

Cheers

Chris

Irenekrapper of the many ids. What gives you the right to tell investors which shares they can or can't, should or shouldn't hold especially with your multi Id'd persona.
Must really fancy yourself.
Whatever happened to freedom of choice.
Why don't you go back to adfin and play with your ids.

Windy "AIM investment have always been a gamble "

that may be so, but it is no excuse for holding on to an investment that just goes down and down.

Windy, the real lesson here is overcoming "loss aversion"

Manos
AIM investment have always been a gamble and none more so that at this time. Anyone who buys into AIM as an investment just hasn't a clue and will like many of us soon parted from their money.
At the current price it may be considered a better than average bet but if the price drops a further 40% it might actually be a good bet but never an investment.
I'd prefer to gamble on AIM rather than say The Grand National certainly staying clear of any horses called Range Resources.

Everyone to their own vices but we could do without the clowns making remarks like putting the headshot to Range. I presume that they are a disgruntled "investor" who hasn't a clue about AIM.

Comments from Eva extracted from his post.

"Best of luck with Range. Sadly I don’t think there is any chance they survive more than a year. I received the below from Eva. They have no drive, ambition or clue.

I understand how frustrating this is but yes, q3 19 is correct. As stated in the announcement, the expected completion schedule was revised to take into account the recently announced Petrotrin restructuring. To explain further, Petrotrin plays a major role in pre-approvals and on-site permitting of infrastructure upgrades. Prior to the restructuring, Petrotrin would carry out such work daily. However, the announced restructuring resulted in Petrotrin ceasing internal overtime work for their employees, including weekend work. These changes are therefore anticipated to result in delays in obtaining regulatory approvals required as part of the programme, and hence cause delay in our infrastructure upgrades.

With regards to RRDSL, we are continuing with marketing efforts and are hoping to secure further work. We will of course update all shareholders once we have some further developments on this.

Kind regards

Eva"

All of those "quoted" in jest are managers. Yan, Lubing, Douglas, Nick. Managers one and all, as per Range's very own website.

I can imagine the managers of Range on a normal day, huddled around the table in the conference room, exchanging nervous glances...
Yan Liu says: "Right, does anyone know what to do? Lubing, how about you?"
"No"
"Douglas?"
"No"
"Nick?"
"Well, we've got no money, so... No."
Yan Liu squirms as if ants are biting his nuts and quietly whispers, "Well, we each have two kidneys. Maybe if we all sold.... No. You're right, it's too much. Let's not share this idea with Mr Sun."
The ineffable Mr Sun from LandOcean... A shadowy, Emperor Ming type character with long nails and a whispy beard. The Range managers all stare at the phone, pining for its ring, awaiting new instructions from LandOcean and its emperor, Mr Sun.
"Do you think he'll call?" whimpers Yan Liu. "Does he even remember us? It's so cold without him."

You may think I'm joking and to a certain extent I am. But the command and control links between LandOcean (LO) and Range are no joke at all.

Why is Range spending money on "studies" and "infrastructure upgrade designs"? Because that's what LO does. Before colonising Range, LO had virtually no presence outside China and no meaningful track record at all of providing physical, tangible oilfield services. LO was and still is, essentially, a company that does studies and design. That's why Range has spent untold tens of millions on reservoir "studies", waterflood "designs" and project "definitions". LO and its associates ploughed money into Range and they want that money back. So. Another study, perhaps? Hmmm Who shall we use for that I wonder?

If any of you doubt the command and control links between LandOcean and Range, just look up LO on Bloomberg and you will find a director on the board of LO called... Yu Chen, active since December 2014. Hmm doesn't that name sound familiar? Could it be the same David Yu Chen who served on the board of Range and still appears here on LSE in the list of director dealings? Well yes indeed, he is one and the same.

The Range directors may be great people, I've never met them and couldn't possibly comment. So let's assume they're cool. But they don't have any control. LO will keep squeezing the last funds out of Range until the company is a husk.

Cardiff
like yourself a long term holder who is down thousands of pounds. Now at the stage of the return from the sale of the shares is of little concern.
Like yourself I believe things just don't add up. The company with all its debts is spending cash on long term improvement. What is disturbing is why the BOD would want Strait Oil in Georgia!

The main question is and one that the BOD are desperately trying to find out is who is hoovering up the shares.
This share has been in my bottom drawer for about 5 years!!!!!! :-)

Another disappointing announcement.

As a long term holder and sitting on a very large loss at present I know this is not good news but I am really struggling to see how we're going to come out of the other side. We are still burning through cash and we don't have any to burn, How are we even going to make it to Q3 2019? I am reading that we basically cannot produce production because we don't have the infrastructure to cope with it, which leads me to believe that maybe we're being kept at low production for a reason? Do the Chinese want to take over this company with one of their others, only one winner in that and it certainly won't be us shareholders!

This update does confuse me a little in that we're spending on infrastructure upgrades, we're buying new tools to help with study and things like this really don't seem to strike me as actions of a company on the rocks and about to go under.

Something doesn't add up here and I'm not sure what but there is obviously some kind of plan to keep this afloat, that said we do have a LARGE amount of debt although NONE of it is secured on assets but it still does worry me!

Bottom drawer stock for me now, Will occasionally look on the forums but it is worrying.
