Why is it not likely?? I would imagine the majority of shareholders do not bother with BB's at all. Who are you to decide who is a shareholder & who is not ...are you some sort of god ...in your head maybe ...just huddle in the corner with the rest of the desperate, destitute & fanboys...what a monumental ar5e
perhaps not. I don't tend to take much notice of the posts that don't discuss xcite and just trade petty insults.
I did read this and iii for a good year before I finally got round to creating an account.
But you're right, none of us know the real reason others have joined up. Some are surely on the level, some perhaps have ulterior motives. It's easy to get carried away when siting behind a keyboard. Apart from one heated post (which got deleted and I got reprimanded for), I don't actually think I've criticised the BoD. I certainly don't agree that all the exec team have done is stuff their pockets and laugh at shareholders in the process, although I've expressed my displeasure in person to the NEDS for their inability to put their money where their mouth is and actually buy some shares. The chairman, somewhat duplicitously, pointed out that he had bought some shares last year, when in fact all he had done was exercise some options in a cashless deal, and used the proceeds to buy a few shares. Anyway, I digress somewhat.
Almost without exception though, every shareholder I've met who posts on boards appears to be as they say. Most are somewhat frustrated, but who wouldn't be? Even if we're all reasonably sure that this will pay out eventually, it's not exactly stress free watching what you thought was a solid investment lose so much of its value.
I agree that length of time on a BB does not indicate whether someone is a share holder or not. The devil is in the detail. This post by Liftmaster earlier ((18:51?) went like this ......"Or put more simply, I am just a pi55ed off investor with a massive average, who has read the same old, somethings happening somethings going on, comments for years, whilst at the same time watching the price deteriorate daily."
He states he has has a massive average and has read the same old comments for years but yet has only been a member here since August. I suppose he coud have invested and then just sat and read posts for years silently, then joined LSE and decided to post hundreds of posts about XEL in a short space of time in a fit of anger.... but it's not really likely... is it?
No. it. did. not. Perhaps you're referring to the story from august 2014 where a journalist had trouble understanding numbers. Widely discussed, and derided, at the time.
You accuse others of twisting words, but you've twice today managed to authoritatively state a company has said something, when in both cases that did not actually happen. And you wonder why people pick holes in what you say.
Indeed, but fallacious arguments like that are made from people on both sides of the fence. I agree that sort of thing is eminently nonsense.
I have no idea whether liftmaster is a shareholder or not, but LEGENDS also accused me of not being a shareholder in the past, so I'm always a bit doubtful when he makes similar pronouncements about others. As I've also pointed out, length of time on a BB doesn't necessarily have any correlation to the length of time a poster has also been a shareholder.
Well I had hoped they'd come back to say some more, but they seem to have gone off shift.
I mean logically folks... how can someone, accused of talking up the price of a share in order to make money, be also accused of 'disappearing having made their money#.... when they share price has actually gone down???? It's errant nonsense isn't it!
However we know from experience that they will regroup tomorrow and carry on with the same old tactics. It's like p***ing in the wind really. Here's to all genuine investors! Hopefully we'll get rewarded soon!
