Royalty...not to be overlooked
Wed 23:54
Net royalties, being the royalties paid less the Group£s share
of profit of associate (which represents the Group£s 35%
interest in Cameroon Holdings Limited, which in turn earns a
royalty from GDC), was 11.5% of attributable revenue for the
current period (prior period: 12.0%

That is no small amount!

RE: Understanding DAMS

Are you for real?

Pom Langar has been feeding those dams for 2 years! The whole time 50MW was needed.

ENEO stated nothing of the sort! It was clearly stated the reason and many articles also back that reason up. Not knowing something and talking out of your a-hole are 2 different things.

Lom Pangar is used to store water for feeding other dams to produce in dry season. Hence no need for Logaba Gas at moment ( and now unlikely in medium future) as ENEO has stated.

Then there is Kribi and its expansion

If Kribi can cope with Douala then there would have been no need for the 50MW for the last 2 years. Kribi will have pull at the port the bigger it gets (if anyone ever uses it!), Kribi will grow as an area to support the port and demand more power. Locals are furious at Kribi its caused loads of problems to them, damage/noise, expansion will be hard with local protests, SNH is asking for more money for the gas, suggesting expansion is not worth it now due to cost.. Its not an answer to everyone£s prayers Kribi.
If Limbe gets involved in flare gas due to Kribi not expanding, it is only to convert Limbe from heavy oil, not add to the production, it is only cited at 100MW odd too, so not a lot and a long time to come to fruition.

I didn't know but....

even Edea has a dam on Douala doorstep and at the Edea Power Distribution point, however 60% goes to an Aluminium Smelter
https://www.revolvy.com/main/index.php?s=Edea%20Hydroelectric%20Power%20Station
Lom Pangar feeds this with held back waters, but Alucam eats 60% of whatever extra can be thrown at it. This has not helped douala's need for the last 2 years and makes no difference going forward.

Memve'ele Dam

I was told the other day this supplies Douala region...more reading was suggest NO IT DOES NOT.

Memve'ele Dam: It has an installed capacity of 201 MW at the Memve'£l£ site on the Ntem River. The construction of a 225-kV high-voltage transmission line linking the site to Yaounde via Ebolowa is underway. The completion of the works is scheduled for 2019.
- It would comprise of a dam, a mill, and a transformation station. The latter would be built in Ebolowa with a
transmission line of 225 Kva (kilo volts amperes) that would serve as a bridge between the dam power station and Yaounde for a distance of about 300 Km.

Sooooo much electric coming to Douala? Sounds like Yoande given a priority to me and not for some time yet before the line is ready. Also Ebolowa is nowhere near Edea and the Douala local network.....this is a super highway line to Yoande. You could argue that it 'will' relieve pressure on the Douala area but by the time the line is complete the need will have been increased offsetting any gain.

Its also been operational as a dam for 2 years...... It holds water back to fuel other dams further down when they need extra power or when water gets low to maintain certain levels of power.

Understanding DAMS
Wed 23:25
Many here have NOOOOOOOOOOO idea.

Do you know that Lom Pangar is not actually a power producing dam? Except for a little 30MW they have recently finished installing.....which incidently is earmarked for a very specific location nowhere near Douala.

So get over Lom Pangar!

RE: COSTS Dik Foo Salary and Royalt..
Wed 23:18
I was just pointing out Foo has put into VOG £60k recently, but taken out $5.4m in salary share options and royalties (less tax) in last 2 years.
If you have info on any possible thermal sales being lined up please advise. It would make me hold on a bit longer.
