My perception is this is a marginally positive statement from Dr. F for a change!

As for the numbers, bookings/pricing could be suggesting that growth strategy playing out after major surgery on business mix ie uk bookings flat but pricing up with low margin bucket and spade to Spain mostly avoided. Chasing margin at expense of growth is the right move and TC is moving the market to Greece. Importantly they are still talking about 'profit' at Condor. Broadly happy with progress IMO

Thomas Cook sees recovery in summer
Tue 07:38
Thomas Cook has said the holiday market is starting to recover following a series of terrorist attacks and political upheaval last year that dampened demand.

Bookings for this summer are 10 per cent ahead of last year and the tour operator said it was “seeing early signs that customers are beginning to go back to Turkey and Egypt”.

Demand for Turkey and Egypt fell sharply after the bombing of a plane from the resort of Sharm el-Sheikh and a violent attempt by the Turkish army to overthrow the government. Thomas Cook said it had instead expanded its offering of Greek holidays and bookings for summer holidays here are up 40 per cent.

In the UK, it said numbers of bookings was flat and average prices were up 3 per cent.
