I am with HL. This offer in my mind is the pits. It has completely put me off buying any Indian shares in the future.. After doing a Google of the company that will be taking them (ESSR) over. Energy Bidco Holdings Ltd. They are a Global Indian Fund Company, so I do not hold out much hope of a juicy dividend. Therefore I took the bull by the horns and have just accepted the sad offer, since I had held out in the early stages in the hope of receiving a better one. Glad to be out of this though at a signiificant loss.

win some, lose some...
29 May '14
for info, I have a small holding of this share, only 1400, but purchased at a price of £1.40 way back when I thought all was rosy with this share....I have been sitting back and have not accepted the 70p offer, however, I decided to call my HSBC stockbrokers last night to make sure I understood my options in relation to what is happening with this share. They told me my optons were;
1) I have missed the 70p offer to buy my shares
2) wait and see if the 70p offer or another offer will be put forward to buy my shares - but not guaranteed
3) if this 90% target of shares purchased is reached, I will lose my shares as they will close the company down - I will get nothing
4) see if I can sell my shares at the current market price

I decided this morning that I did not want to lose all my investment, so sold this morning at 69.75p at a loss
Another lesson learned in my win some/lose some investing hobby :(

Tell me about it - I was very frustrated on the phone to them at 9am on Friday morning when I was able to quote the RNS to them which said it had been extended through to 1pm that date and she kept responding with "Our system is telling me it was until Wednesday 21st" over and over. I have since sent them off a complaint e-mail but I am not holding out for anything!

90% Mark???
27 May '14
If the 90% mark is reached is it automatic that all shares will be bought out?

Is there any info in circulation regarding what percentage the conmen are upto?

I have no opinion I wish to air on this forum!

Baffling

The broker obviously has an admin department that can’t keep up with events. I’d change the broker & or seek compensation for any losses if the 70p offer is still available. On another subject it is bizarre what’s going on with the share, there was AT buy’s going through at 70p this morning. With the Bombay Sensex at all time highs & the link up with Mahan Coal, what’s the betting this gets relisted again on the Sensex & in a few years time the same thing happens again.

Not being smart after the event but why wouldn't your broker accept an instruction!! Also if over 90% you get dragged along so you get bought out anyway!

Must have been the news on the extension to the 6th June?! Sold on Friday at 64p after fighting with my broker on acceptance of the 70p offer/fearing it would only fall further.

Wonderful! This company/situation still has the power to frustrate me...
