TRADING COMMENCES FOR SPONSORED AMERICAN DEPOSITARY RECEIPT ("ADR") PROGRAMME
Severn Trent Plc ("Severn Trent") is pleased to announce that, following the establishment of a Sponsored Level I ADR programme on 5 March 2012, trading of the ADRs is now underway in the United States.
ADRs are negotiable certificates, issued in registered form, and represent an interest in the shares of a non-U.S. company. ADRs are traded and settled in U.S. dollars. Severn Trent believes that the establishment of the ADR programme will benefit existing shareholders by making its shares more accessible to U.S. investors and provide Severn Trent with increased visibility within the U.S. market.
Ordinary shares in Severn Trent, in the form of ADRs, will trade on the Over-the-Counter (OTC) market in the United States on the basis of 1 ADR to 1 Severn Trent ordinary share.
Severn Trent has appointed The Bank of New York Mellon to act as the Depositary to establish and maintain the ADR facility.
Severn Trent Plc is a FTSE 100 company, engaged in the provision and treatment of water and the removal of waste water in the United Kingdom and internationally, through two complementary businesses: Severn Trent Water and Severn Trent Services.
