British Sky Broadcasting Group plc ('BSkyB' or 'the Company') yesterday made further changes to its Board as part of the ongoing programme to replace current Directors as they retire.
Dame Gail Rebuck has retired as a Director of the Company after nine years during which she has served as a member of the Board's Audit Committee and as Chairman of the Bigger Picture Committee. Dame Gail is succeeded by Tracy Clarke, who has been appointed to the Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
Tracy Clarke is Group Head of Human Resources & Communications at Standard Chartered Bank, where she has worked for over 26 years in a variety of roles in human resources, corporate affairs, wholesale and retail banking in the UK and Hong Kong. Since May 2007 Tracy has also been a member of the Group Management Committee. She was a non-executive director of SC First Bank in Korea from 2005-2007 and a non-executive director of eaga plc between 2007 and 2011. She is a member of the Institute of Financial Services and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.
Nicholas Ferguson, Chairman of BSkyB, commented: "On behalf of the Board and shareholders, I would like to express our gratitude to Dame Gail Rebuck for her very significant contribution to BSkyB. Her expertise and counsel have been greatly valued during a period of successful growth for the company. In particular, I would like to pay tribute to her support, through her chairmanship of the Bigger Picture committee, for BSkyB's growing contribution to the community in which we operate.
Mr Ferguson added: "We are delighted to welcome Tracy Clarke to the Board and look forward to her contribution over the coming years. Her expertise in banking, corporate affairs, human resources and leadership and team development will further strengthen the skills of our Board."
Note: All Directors stand annually for re-election at BSkyB's AGM in line with best practice.
