Appointment of Company Secretary & Legal Counsel
British Polythene Industries PLC (BPI) announced today the intention to appoint Hilary Kane, a partner of Maclay Murray & Spens LLP (MMS), as Company Secretary & Legal Counsel following the retiral of Ray Brooksbank on 31 August 2012. Hilary will become Company Secretary on 1 September 2012.
Hilary is a graduate of Glasgow University and has been with MMS for 26 years having trained there and was appointed a partner in 1991. As a partner in MMS, she was involved in corporate work and specialised in mergers and acquisitions. Hilary has advised BPI throughout a 24 year period, which saw the Group grow significantly with a large number of acquisitions.
Commenting Cameron McLatchie, chairman of BPI, said:
"We have long had the highest regard for the advice offered by Hilary and we are very pleased that she has agreed to join BPI as Company Secretary. We look forward to welcoming her to our team."
