Announcement of Financial Results for the Three Months Ended June 30, 2012

On August 6, 2012, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation ("NTT") announced that it has filed with the Tokyo Stock Exchange and other stock exchanges in Japan on which its securities are traded information as to its financial condition and results of operations for the three months ended June 30, 2012. Please find attached an English translation of the press release.

The consolidated financial information of NTT and that of its subsidiary, NTT DOCOMO INC., included in the press release was prepared on the basis of accounting principles generally accepted in the United States. The non-consolidated financial information of NTT and that of each of its three wholly-owned subsidiaries, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation and NTT Communications Corporation, as well as that of its subsidiary NTT DATA CORPORATION, included in the press release was prepared on the basis of accounting principles generally accepted in Japan. NTT files its financial information routinely with the Tokyo Stock Exchange and other stock exchanges in Japan.
