Pugsy that is not how shorting works. What you describe is share trading, which is basically what we all do.ie buy low, sell high. We hope. Suggest you google shorting and have a little read up on it.

I told myself I would behave and not trade this anymore. It's just too good to resist though.

I remember last year many 'wise investors' on this very board were saying no problem holding above £2 post XD day and yet the SP sank down to £1.40 odd. Funny that. I have a decent holding here, some of which I got at 55p in 2011. They might have gone up but the direction they go in after XD is anyone's guess. Never forget, when you buy shares, you're backing yourself that you know more about their future than the bloke (or bloke-ess) who sold them to you. Personally I would have backed Barcelona last night. WTF do I know?

Iím sure you are an expert in this subject, which is why you choose to spout your nonsense here rather than publishing it in a peer reviewed journal. You have made your decision and now you will try and make the facts fit that decision. Science works the other way round. People like you are not worth arguing with.

Jep , your fee is in the post.

...the results aren't reflected in the SP
4 Apr '19

Becaus the sp is lower and some people arenít bothered about divs because they are normally classed as income and sp rise is capital gain which equals less tax. Thereís probably other reasons, but thatís mine.

Wish the SP wasnít driven by currency as much as by results. It complicates things too much for my uncomplicated brain, especially with our elected dunces making such a hatstand of Europe.

I'm with Gerry. I paid a bit more for mine but I have no intention of parting with them and am much more likely to buy more. I am also a poor old pensioner though I still do a fair bit of contract work for dopey money and LGEN will be one of my core income holdings when I give up the daily grind forever.

Break even at around £6.90. I'm not holding my breath.

Another one of Woodford's calamities is showing a bit of life today. He seems to be backing a pretty poor deal in order to minimise his own losses.
22 Feb '19

erm...thatís it really
21 Feb '19

Looked at the div, read the reports from taoday and previous, even read some (not many) of the comments below. Ain't no way I'm going anywhere near this.

Chitty it could possibly have something to do with some or all of the recent GSK news announcements. Always worth reading the financial news I find. This is particularly true in respect of companies I either am or am considering investing in. I recommend it.

Iíll think about getting out. He is doing virtually nothing right and getting a lot of things wrong. He sold GSK and bought Lloydís bank. Why? His fund is a bit like pin the tail on the donkey and has way way too many holdings. GSK is a buy and forget for me.

Nuri, the dinosaurs were around for longer than that and look what happened to them. Technology has left the Royal Mail with an increasingly defunct business model. Where is their money going to come from? The outlook is bleak and I'm glad I sold at a bit less than break even rather than hang on for dividends
14 Jan '19

Asperger, please take my higher guess. If Corbyn wins, weíll all have way more to worry about than Lloydís bank.
14 Jan '19

Dues paid with tax relief. Would have PMíd this but the money grubbing bístards want a tenner for the privilege. Put me on for next year at 59p. Or 21p if Corbyn gets anywhere near No 10.

AlanG. Sounds nice. Am currently in Manaus where the weather has been warm but I fear we are about to get a serious afternoon thunderstorm. NTW, am off to the opera house this evening for aperitifs and onwards for dinner. Life is hard but I will shoulder the burden with good grace.
