Gerry557, if GSk split, surely the share price can't perform as badly? Reminds me of the heady days when Glaxo and smithkline were operating separately, both trading in the high teens and two sets of divis!
Fastforward nearly 20 years ....someone pass me the antidepressants

news like this a couple of years ago would have sent the sp up 30-40 %. I'm waiting to see those oil barrels filled before i get too excited
23 May '19

gone ex.div today.

Still worrying to see this down below 200p
22 May '19

taking a battering in the last few days. gbp/usd weakeness and brexit not helping but added to long tem holdings
15 May '19

had to check the graph to see the last time we were at these levels and that was back in nov 1997!
With the stock price at this level, why continue to pay a divi?
15 May '19

unusually high today. Over 71m traded. Hopefully sp can get motoring and get back over 280p soon
14 May '19

Bitcoin up nearly 16% at the mo to 8171. Amazing move. XBT Tracker on the otherhand up around 4%

i would have expected fres to be a least up and not down against growing tariff tensions, not to mention Trump tweets! S+P falling and gold up a bit and silver down a tad.The flight to safety no quite happening yet...

I saw this link on advfn:

I wouldn't like to speculate where the shares would be if no positive news!
How long does SFO investigation take?
24 Apr '19

sadly dragged down by Sugar division again but Primark performing well and divi increased. Interesting to see what BoD will do to improve the sugar biz. SP nicely up. Let's hope it continues.

Nice recovery. I don't like to average down but in this case, I wish I had!

from Seeking Alpha:

Like you liamo79, I bought y/day and as soon as I did, the price fell below 860p!
27 Mar '19

hard. 16% down this week!! iAny TA's know a level of support?
25 Mar '19

ah, I see...many thanks for clarifying!
25 Mar '19

Rather than all these buybacks, any reason why they're not paying more special divs instead? There's a ton of shares issued and I doubt they are making much of a dent in reducing it...
11 Mar '19

it beggars belief that the accountants couldn't figure out the company's actual debt at the time or before the rights issue AND if that isn't bad enough, what were their auditors signing off on?!
20 Feb '19

any reason for the huge drop?
7 Feb '19

SFO investigation has been going on since 2017 so i wonder how much more will the sfo investigate? Are they looking to secure more convictions?

i would hope there's a good pipeline at tesaro that could be realised with GSK's expertise backing it. However i do think the BoDs approach/decision has to questioned somewhat. Since the rumours kicked in the stocks jumped from around $27 to around $46 at the close of 30nov, and now GSk are offering $75.
