Profits up but not meeting forecasts, now got impairments for Brexit rather than PPI/conduct, no buyback or special dividend in sight. Surprised sp is not swimming like a brick - only 5% down so far.

swest42 - do you work for Barclays ?
Broker note last week :
16-Oct-18:Barclays-Overweight-914.00

Sounds about right.

230 or 220 ? Assuming good or neutral Brexit outcome - this should rebound :
"Banks have been hit much harder than the rest of the FTSE 350, which is down around 8% in the same period.

Confidence in UK domestic lenders, currently trading on just 7-7.5 times earnings estimates for 2019, is mostly weak due to Brexit fears, said Lee Wild, head of equity strategy at Interactive Investor.

"UK interest rates have risen slightly, which is normally good for bank sector margins as lenders typically increase the cost of mortgages and loans more than savings rates," he said. "But borrowing costs remain at historically low levels, and any downturn in the economy - possibly triggered by a messy Brexit - could negatively impact on demand for bank products."

superzero8 - thanks for your reply. Heights is a contract manufacturer but do you think they are up to producing a Gen3 machine ? Their website does not give a customer list or mention REDT.
23 Oct '18

At Flybe.
Number cruncher just told me that although Flybe is loss making, according to latest figures, they actually still have sufficient cash runway for more than 3 years - providing they maintain the current positive free cash flow. Assuming they can, then dilution not needed - yet. But DYOR

OldFool13 - Jabil tooling up ? REDT does not even get a mention on the Jabil site. Tooling up typically takes at least 6 months until commissioning. Like you, not convinced they will be producing until Q2 at the earliest. However, was there somewhere a comment from REDT that there is also a UK based manufacturing facility capable of doing bespoke jobs in shorter timescale ?

In Scotland - not Exeter. You cannot call anyone earning that much and delivering so little mad. Well above other CEOs but for how much longer ?
17 Oct '18

Finally - can buy at 7.03 but cannot sell. Been told that the OILQ might be price stabilisation after placing. Certainly stopped sp freefall yesterday.
17 Oct '18

I'm with Barclays and cannot get a buy or sell price.
16 Oct '18

Is your first name Sam ?
16 Oct '18

OK - went to lunch with sp tanking, came back to find sp up due to trades with trade flag OILQ - type of negotiated trade waiver (negotiated trade type). What does this actually mean ? Anyone ?
16 Oct '18

IMO - its more to do with the exchange rate - check the timings yourself ...

MARS is also the world's largest brewer of cask ale.

Auspicious that Deutche with their bucket load of euros have made this purchase just before Brexit deal/no deal decision. If you had a bucket of euros would you buy now if you thought that a no deal was likely and £ would tank against euro ? IMO - they have their money on a deal and fact that this is last buying opportunity before £ strengthens as result of deal. Got to be a Buy.

Chief Information Officer leaving during middle of systems implementation ? Really ? Unless its for personal reasons, this sounds like implementation dates have slipped, IT costs now much higher than planned or promised benefits of new system seen as exaggerated. Sounds like a typical IT project to me.

Must admit to having been re-assured by July RNS which stated :
"The implementation of the new digital platform is progressing well and is already being rolled out, to be operational in H2 2018/19. Once introduced, we expect the new platform will improve the booking experience, attract new customers, enhance our customer relationship management and assist in revenue management".

Looking at Simply Wall Street analysis for WRES - 9 employees ??? They must be good at digging ...

In Portsmouth, as part of price roll-back, but don't rush, I bought the last few bottles ...
13 Oct '18

Agree - should rebound by XMAS - DCF (5 year Discounted Cash Flow) is 1400+
Think the CEO is seriously overpaid at £1,400,000+ (increased by 20%+ in past year) for presiding over this fiasco and worse still, cynically trying to bury it on a bad market day !!! IMO time for immediate pay cut followed in short order by new blood. Still, must thank him for the buying opportunity ...
12 Oct '18

My two pennyworth - many articles in press mentioning today's 2p divi payment (first for 10 years). Interestingly, further confirmation or earlier news "Even after Friday's payment, the bank has excess capital which it plans to return to investors, possibly via a special dividend or share buy back". So it is looking good, one way or the other ...

Think Berenberg got it right - 950 looks fair/low to me.
Great buying opportunity right now - bought back in myself.
Completely agree with you about them finding a good day to bury the 'bad' news.
