Looks like vulture in nest inviting his family back to feast on ISAT for second time, no less. Explains everything. https://news.sky.com/story/why-consortium-circling-inmarsat-may-wish-to-take-it-private-11671145

Former up 6% latter down 2%. Kinda points that Intelsat not in running ...

Good test results from Tesaro today. Maybe the purchase price was not as exorbitant as first thought.

ISAT attacked by vultures and pensioners, but unlike other astronaut suitors, at least they have hard cash ! Anyone dare speculate what might happen next ?

Sadly, market closed so will have to wait until Monday. Just picked up on the horrendous news that RBS has been tipped by Motley Fool. This is clearly the end …
Had a quick look at their article which wittered on about how RBS has paid off its legacy issues (not mentioning the latest skeleton revealed just this week) and not referring to the fact that the next labour government will keep control and use RBS as its own cash cow.

glasgowpunter - I do not have a specific international brewer in mind, but certainly believe that a further drop in value of pound would bring in someone - possibly from europe. However, as of this morning, with Brexit effectively in rear view mirror, the pound is likely to strengthen so reducing the chance of any international bid. As for sp, this usually rises as Brexit is bashed so assume a further rise is on the cards. More importantly, summer is coming and another scorcher like last year should give brewers a boost. Brokers range from 100-120. I think Numis have got it right (120).

Fiscal watchdog says estimate of loss to taxpayers from the 2008 rescue of Royal Bank of Scotland is 31 billion pounds
despite RBS paying a special dividend on its annual profits in 2018. Thinking about it, just realised I own shares in a company that has lost 31 bill … LOL

Today's broker note from Goldman helped. Reiterates ‘BUY’ target price 395, potential upside of 51.3%.

Brexit optimism - smooth transition hopes. Depends on tonight's vote. If May gets approval, then today's good rise will seem puny compared to the rise that will happen tomorrow (IMO).

Todays hilarious new comedy starring Wincanton, who take on the Supply Chain Manager from Toys r us which went spectacularly bust !!! Not quite to infinity and beyond …

Excellent - much better than expected, good to see the promised Aviation growth materialising and progress with IOT.
Good to see final dividend of 12 US cents per share, in line with the 2017 final payout.

New roles for 500 people, including 170 drivers. That is a big RDC. Coop must be very pleased with existing WIN contracts to award this new one to WIN. There is a lot of competition around. Impressive.

How many more skeletons in cupboard ? How much will this cost ?

RBS sued in the US

Reuters reported yesterday that RBS and Bank of America were sued in the US over their alleged roles in a conspiracy among eight banks to rig prices in the $9.4 trillion European government bond market. The proposed class-action complaint accusing the banks of violating federal antitrust law was filed on Monday night in District Court in New Haven, Connecticut, and followed a January 31 announcement by the European Union’s antitrust authority accusing the eight banks of being part of a cartel to distort bond prices from 2007 to 2012.

While the commission did not identify the eight banks, the newswire said that media reports had suggested that Bank of America and RBS are among them.

'PQ Birch Phase III trial will read out before the end of Q1 2019'. Thats in the next 3 weeks ! Fingers crossed for great end of month ...

Another repeat? Sounds like the same contract that WIN won from ESL about 3 weeks ago. Both RNS mentioned concrete products, are they really referring to different deals?

Canaccord raised MARS from Hold 105 to Buy 115, on grounds that based on the price Fuller's got for their brands and brewery (24 times profits), this means that MARS is undervalued.
Broker believes (like me) that Marston’s Brewing is 'potentially a strategic asset to an international brewer seeking a market entry to the UK.' With that in mind, together with appearance of a double rainbow appearing in my pint of Pedigree just the other day, I think that 115 is a bit low ...

Agree with Berensen's new target of 340p on grounds that 'directed buybacks can offset headwinds from the government's stake sale'. They anticipate buybacks of £1.0bn in 2019, rising to £1.5bn thereafter and believe RBS could return about £3.8bn of capital over the next three years. Would have been sceptical of these projections just last month but for once, RBS appears to be delivering.

Sp to tank as result of need to hold even more cash for Brexit uncertainty (ie to follow government mantra but more impotently, to guarantee bonuses for next year). Cannot see a special divi or any other good news myself. Hoping I am wrong but this is a govmnt controlled fiasco.
