Just read your post. No I wasn't aware until it was reported here. Still, alls well that ends well.
I'm glad it went down the plug hole. We've got a better vaccine now and we don't have to rely on somebody else for a component of an important product. At least we learnt about this eventuality while the vaccine was in the development stage; well before it had gone for GMP manufacture, prior to trialling. We should see it as Heaven's hand in our affairs.

No mate. There were sufficient controls to gauge efficacy and determine clinical benefit.
OK its not ideal. Only 4 patients being offered the full dose and one of them too ill to get further than the first out of 5 injections. But the controls consist of tests for immune and tumour response which are in themselves reliable. As the study made plain, the results provide evidence of clinical benefit.
I just want to emphasise what Pale Rider has said about the example of a patient who saw tumours which had spread to her lungs shrink and disappear. This is the first time that a dendritic cell vaccine has ever shown the capability of shrinking tumours without a toxic additive like interleukin 2. Dendreon's Provenge for instance has never shown any signs of being able to shrink tumours. OK, its in only one patient. But if it can be repeated in this extra cohort that will receive the double (8mg) dose then it will be absolutely incredible. Scancell will be worth a mint. Now that's not a ramp. Let's wait and see what this new mini-trial delivers. But to get such promise from what after all was, as you say, a dose escalation study, then its something to feel truly excited about.
PS: The fact that they have decided to have this extra trial on patients with tumours shows that even Scancell have been taken by surprise by this development.

I wouldn't mind if one short post had been posted here but it would take all night and every night to answer that lot.
Be reasonable. If you want a post analysed, I'll do it. But make it one post and not half a dozen.

Pale Rider has already demolished those posts before Xmas. Why do we have to go through them all over again? I am not having my time wasted by an arrogant bafoon who doesn't know the first thing about immunology. He is a fraud for heaven's sake.
I read them and I can see that they are fabricated mischief.
