History of the Icelandic Krona:
The name 'Krona', originally meaning 'crown' is analogous to that of the other Nordic countries. Since 1961 the Icelandic krona has been controlled by Central Bank of Iceland, which revalued the currency in 1980, with 1 new krona being worth 100 old krona.
