The takeover proposal is conditional on due diligence and the negotiation of all definitive documents. Ithaca said talks are preliminary and “there can be no certainty that an offer will be made”.

Ithaca currently holds a 22.5 percent operating stake in the Athena oilfield, which currently has proved and probable reserves of 24.4 million barrels and production was due to begin in the final quarter of 2011.

Gains in Ithaca’s share price were curbed by uncertainty about the terms of the offer made for the company.

On message boards, investors following Ithaca debated whether the company has already agreed on a takeover price and what it may be with most expecting the offer to be in the range between 200 and 250 pence per share.

It was also speculated that the bidder – which some said could be its joint venture partner EnQuest (LON:EQ.) – would have to make an offer at a hefty premium to the current price considering that Ithaca has US$100 million in the bank, enough to fund roughly half of the 2012 programme.

Ithaca’s net capital expenditure is expected to total US$210 million, almost all of which will be spent on the Greater Stella Area development, including approximately US$24 million to drill and test the Hurricane appraisal well.

2012 Guidance

The Company anticipates 2012 net capital expenditure to total approximately US$210 million. This expenditure is almost
entirely focused on the execution of the Greater Stella Area development, including approximately US$24 million to drill
and test the Hurricane appraisal well that is scheduled to spud in late Q1 2012. The total net capital expenditure also
includes approximately US$2.6 million on Athena to take the development to first oil.

As previously indicated, the Company will provide full year production guidance for 2012 once the BW Athena Floating
Production, Storage and Offtake ("FPSO") vessel is hooked up in the field.

Ithaca Energy Inc. (TSX:IAE)(AIM:IAE) reports 2011 full year production, details of the 2012 CAPEX programme and a
project update.

Export Production 2011

Full year export production for the Company in 2011 totalled 1,595,039 barrels of oil equivalent ("boe") and represents
an average rate of 4,370 barrels of oil equivalent per day ("boepd") net to Ithaca. The Company's export production
volumes for 2011 came from the operated Beatrice, Jacky and Anglia fields and from the non-operated Topaz, Cook and
Broom fields. Cook and Broom production are included from their effective acquisition dates of January 1 and October 20
2011, respectively.

-- The Company's current daily export production rate is approximately
5,010 boepd net. This number benefits from the result of a workover
recently completed at the Beatrice Bravo platform.

-- The Cook field suffered downtime during the last quarter due to the
partial failure of a subsea control module. This was replaced and
production was fully restored during the quarter.

-- The Beatrice field experienced some downtime in December as a result of
electrical power outages caused by interruption of the shore based
supply and a temporary failure of the produced water treatment system.

Cash Position

The Company had over US$100 million cash at the end of 2011 having taken its first lifting of oil from the Cook field in
December 2011. This cargo was sold for a net value of over US$34 million.

Iain McKendrick, CEO, commented:

"This short term delay is clearly disappointing but it does not change the fundamental value of the project. Athena is a
highly valuable development that will more than double net production and further diversify the Company's production
portfolio. Both Ithaca and BW Offshore want to ensure and maintain the highest standards of vessel integrity upon
arrival in the field to maximize production uptime and value to the project."

Joint Venture partners in the Athena field are: Ithaca, operator (22.5%), Dyas UK Limited (47.5%), EWE
Aktiengesellschaft (20%) and Zeus Petroleum Limited (10%).

Ithaca Energy Inc. (TSX:IAE)(AIM:IAE) announces progress on the BW Athena Floating Production, Storage and Offloading
(FPSO) vessel.

The FPSO conversion scope, which is the responsibility of BW Offshore, has proved to be more extensive than was
envisaged at the start of the project. In spite of the increase in the amount of work required, BW Offshore and Dubai
Dry Docks have completed a fast track engineering project to deliver the vessel very close to the original schedule.
After very recent consultation on health and safety requirements, additional redundancy is being introduced in the
vessel power and heading control systems in response to the North Sea incident in 2011 when the Gryphon FPSO suffered a
mooring system failure. The additional work now being undertaken is aimed at ensuring that production startup is not
delayed once the vessel has arrived at the Athena field.

Payments for the vessel by the Athena Joint Venture remain unchanged and will commence, by way of a day rate to BW
Offshore, only once the FPSO is moored over the Athena field and produced oil is transferred into the vessel's storage
tanks. Once the vessel leaves Dubai, it will sail to the North Sea and hook up to the pre-installed production buoy. In-
field commissioning will be minimized by the comprehensive dockside commissioning being undertaken in Dubai. The journey
to the UK and in-field pre-startup works will take approximately 5 weeks.

Accordingly, the FPSO will remain in Dubai docks to complete all commissioning work and some minor modifications to the
vessel power and heading control systems. It is now anticipated that the vessel will sail from Dubai in early 2012.

The installation of subsea equipment at the Athena field location has progressed well and remains within schedule. The
submerged buoy mooring system and all flowlines have been laid and connection is in progress. Installation of the power
and control umbilicals and the connection of flexible risers to the riser base and submerged buoy is ongoing and will be
complete well before the FPSO arrives in the field.

Meanwhile, all Athena development wells are now ready for production and the Sedco 704 drilling unit is off contract.

Ithaca Energy Inc. (TSX:IAE)(AIM:IAE) announces today that the Crathes exploration well, 21/13a-5, encountered
a 52ft light oil column in excellent quality reservoir sands. The well is currently undergoing wireline
logging, before drilling ahead to intersect the Moon prospect.

The recent corporate acquisition of Challenger Minerals (North Sea) Limited by Ithaca included a dual target
exploration opportunity in Block 21/13a alongside the Scolty and Torphins undeveloped discoveries. The primary
exploration target is the Crathes prospect which lies within the Palaeocene section. The secondary target is
the Moon prospect within the deeper Upper Jurassic section.

Ithaca Energy Inc.: Athena Project Update

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM and CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Oct. 11, 2011) -

NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO U.S. NEWSWIRE SERVICES OR FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES

Ithaca Energy Inc. (TSX VENTURE:IAE)(AIM:IAE) announces that it has met major scheduled milestones for the
Athena project and on site subsea installation work and rig based operations are on schedule.

The Company will present the Athena project today at 9.30 a.m. in London; the presentation is available on the
Company's website (www.ithacaenergy.com).

Key milestones achieved:

/T/

-- The drilling rig, Sedco 704, has now successfully completed four of the
five development wells for production. The fifth and final well will
finish in mid October after which the rig will be demobilised.
-- Installation of the FPSO mooring system, riser base and subsea manifold
have been completed utilising the Boa Deep C construction support vessel
all of which are fundamental for the hook up between the BW Athena
Floating Production Storage and Offtake ("FPSO")and the subsea
    facilitiesvessel.
-- All topsides equipment on the BW Athena FPSO has been installed.
Mechanical completion will occur in October and commissioning will
    commence.

/T/

Forward plan:

/T/

-- Installation of the subsea flowlines and umbilicals is underway and will
be completed during October by the Boa Deep C and the subsea facilities
will then be hooked up utilising the Bibby Topaz DSV (Dive Support
    Vessel).
-- The vessel will leave Dubai around mid November to arrive in the field
in December. The transit will take approximately 20 days and involves
    passage through the Suez Canal.
-- The start up procedure in the field will take approximately 14 days to
complete. This involves securing the vessel over the STP buoy, final
hook up and commissioning of all surface and subsea systems.
-- The Company continues to exercise tight control over remaining aspects
of overall work programme. Potential risks remain to the schedule of
adverse weather conditions or unexpected start-up procedure and
    commissioning delays

/T/

The project remains within budget and first oil is anticipated in Q4 2011.

Corporate

-- The Company entered into an agreement to acquire a 28.46% non-operated
interest in the Cook oil field from Hess Limited ("Hess") for a
consideration of $62.5 million and the transfer from Ithaca to Hess of a
10% interest in each of exploration blocks 42/25b, 43/16a and 43/21c in
the Southern North Sea (the "Cook Acquisition"). The transaction was
completed on August 25, 2011 with an effective date of January 1, 2011
and an adjusted consideration of $57 million. The adjusted consideration
does not reflect current oil inventory of approximately 185,000 barrels
which will be part of the next Ithaca cargo lifting (of approximately
    300,000 barrels) anticipated in Q4 2011.

Cook production post completion shall be included in the Company's 2011
production figures. The field is currently producing approximately 7,000
boepd (1,992 boepd net to Ithaca).

With the conclusion of the Cook acquisition, the Company now has three
producing centres in Cook, Jacky & Beatrice and Anglia & Topaz. The
commencement of production from Athena will further widen the Company's
    production base.

-- The Company signed an earn in agreement with Challenger Minerals (North
Sea) Limited to drill an appraisal well on the Hurricane discovery
subject to agreeing 'turnkey' terms for the provision of a drilling rig
    and well management services.

Operations

-- Production averaged 2,040 barrels of oil equivalent per day ("boepd")
net to Ithaca over the 3 months period to June 30 with sales averaging
1,950 boepd after accounting for increased pipeline stock. Q2 production
was lower than anticipated mainly as a result of the failure of the
Electrical Submersible Pumps ("ESP") in the Jacky J01 production well as
well as unscheduled interruptions during the drilling of the Jacky J03
well. The pumps were replaced during June 2011 and Jacky production was
fully restored at the start of July 2011.

-- The well workover campaign on Beatrice Alpha was completed in July, when
the 'A21' well was returned to production following the re-completion of
the well and deployment of a new ESP.

-- The modification works being performed in Dubai to extend the 'BW
Athena' FPSO vessel by 65 feet and install a turret mooring system were
completed on schedule in June 2011. The vessel was subsequently re-
floated ready for installation of the new power generation and water
    injection modules.

-- The Sedco 704 drilling rig successfully concluded drilling operations on
the Athena field in June 2011. The rig subsequently commenced the
completion programme for the five development wells (four productions
and one water injection), with operations on the 'A2', 'A3' and 'A4'
wells having now been completed. The rig is currently undertaking
completion operations on the fourth of the five well programme.

-- The Athena Field Subsea Installation campaign began in early August with
loadout and transport to the field of the submerged buoy mooring system.
Other subsea equipment including risers and flowlines has been delivered
to quayside and is ready for installation. More details and images of
the Athena project are provided on the Company's website:
    http://www.ithacaenergy.com/Athena-Area.asp

-- The first of the major contracts on the Stella project was awarded to GE
Oil & Gas for the manufacture of the subsea trees and control systems.
The Company has also completed an offshore geotechnical programme to
determine the suitability of certain jackup drilling units at potential
development drilling locations on the Stella and Harrier fields. The
programme also included a borehole survey in advance of the planned
    Hurricane appraisal well.

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM and CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - July 4, 2011) - Ithaca Energy Inc. (TSX
VENTURE:IAE)(AIM:IAE) -

NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION ON U.S. NEWSWIRE SERVICES OR FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES

Ithaca Energy Inc. announces that stable production from the Jacky field has been restored in the J01 well
("the well") at approximately 3,120 barrels of oil per day ("bopd")(1,482 bopd net to Ithaca).

Production has been restored to this level through the replacement of a dual ESP system with slightly larger
pumps providing greater operational flexibility and prolonged run life. The well was producing at approximately
2,800 bopd (1,300 bopd net to Ithaca) before the loss of pump assisted flow, as previously announced.

Jacky Joint Venture Partners are Ithaca (Operator, 47.5%), Dyas UK Ltd (42.5%), North Sea Energy (UK) Limited
(10%).

Athena Project Update

The engineering and modifications associated with the dry dock works in Dubai to extend the Floating Production
Storage and Offloading vessel, 'BW Athena' by 65 feet and install a turret docking system have been completed.
The vessel has now been re-floated ready for installation of the new power generation and water injection
modules during July 2011. This is another critical milestone accomplished towards achieving first oil in Q4
2011.

Iain McKendrick, CEO, commented,

"Despite the short term set-backs that caused production shortfalls on Jacky in the first half of the year, Q1 has
delivered a strong set of results. With completion of the Cook acquisition and Athena first oil in the second half of
2011 the vulnerability of the company's production to single well upsets has been addressed. This reduction of risk
concentration will continue as we look to add further quality production acquisitions. With J01 production now restored,
we look forward with confidence to first oil on Athena following the successful drilling program and the excellent
progress being made elsewhere on the project."
