Not offence taken atall. Well, at least I'm back in and will stay the course this time.Looking back some time down the road I think I'll have got a bargain at 221p so that was ok - that's how it goes,I made several thousand anyway-so not all doom and gloom. I sold when things were still looking dire and there was a good chance of the sp tanking down again-I need to check the ex. didvi date for the March pay out.

It's 6.00am and the temp is minus 6C - Ugh. Time for a cuppa (said my wife lol) and a walk to the newspaper shop at 7.30.I wonder if,as I'm making the tea, she'll go for the paper ?..I suspect not Lol.

no offence but you should of stayed in as I mentioned. Let her take her course over the next few months and we could see £3.00 potentially. The London Games will bring a feel good factor as long as all plays put safely if you know what I mean but all being well it could do us no harm as the economy will benefit from billions coming into the country especially London.

[John65] Back In

More a story really ..On Tuesday Barcs close was 225,I'd read XBanker's post re. a new base developing- a mid-price low and the low price bases were behind us. Inanaco acknowledging a good move forward too and some other positive posts-this was despite the Greek talks struggling along, then there are Barcs.numbers out on the 10th. and expected to be good - so there seemed a general tone of awakening optimism - light at the end of the tunnel. On Wednesday morning I was planning on leaving home at 6.00am to do some sunrise photography but had a very strong feeling not to but stay and buy Barcs. Minus 4C didn't play a part,honest..but it helped..Lol. I called up at 8.30 expecting to pay 226/227 -that 225p close price was still showing on here but I paid 221p - I put the money back in from the sell at 188p (from 141 and 156)held over a couple of months. I intend leaving this buy longer term now.I looked at the Bloomberg ticker earlier this evening and saw Barcs at 204K-I thought it meant 204p and my heart sank. I still don't know what that 204K was.I then switched to CNBC and on their ticker saw 233p and was overjoyed, I then came on here and saw 237.45p Fantastic.

I'm with Thinking Prince on his 12 noon post today (page 7 as it stands) and he re-iterates his 250p. plus target in the post below at 21.27. Also, whilst watching Bloomberg I heard that US bankers are quietly buying Euro bank shares -under their rules they are not allowed to buy into US banks. About two weeks ago someone asked me if I thought Barcs would make it to £3 before the end of the year and I said no - (I was flattered that he even asked my opinion Lol) I'm now thinking that with the ECB actually doing something other than saying Nein I wouldn't be surprised to see 300p in the summer.I think that if the main players were going to let Greece go it would have done so before now,not after pouring in billions-There's been a lot of angst along the road and maybe there'll be days when it comes to haunt us again but with the US seemingly coming out with good numbers and their markets surging and talk of China putting its hand in its pocket to assist the Eurozone bail out fund,Sarkozy up for election in May,Obama in November then there's a lot of positive stuff going on out there. Obama is already telling Congress not to derail the present impetus. ...Nice to be back on board ....and look at my 'Opinion' now.

Given the news from Themac this week, wouldn't it be great to see some director buys at this level? If ECR really is the stupendous bargain we see it to be, it would be good to see a further lead from management.

The last transaction was Stephen Clayson (ECR FD) selling out at 1.6p. That still peeves me, though I'm sure he had his reasons.

Appreciate the number of management options set at 2p. Maybe that's payday enough.

[Mo2047] Recession risk eases as service sec

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's dominant services sector grew at the fastest pace in 10 months in January and firms became much more optimistic, a survey showed on Friday, crowning a raft of upbeat economic news this week that raised hopes Britain may avoid recession.
The surprise rebound provides some relief to the government - under pressure again to ease its austerity drive - as well as food for thought for the Bank of England as it considers whether to pump more money into the fragile economy.
The central bank is still widely expected to announce another round of quantitative easing asset purchases next week, though the policymakers may now lean towards a smaller boost.
The Markit/CIPS Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) for services rose to 56.0 from 54.0 in December, confounding forecasts for a dip and climbing higher above the 50 mark which separates growth from contraction.
"Given all the concerns about the weakness of activity in Q4, the prospect of a double-dip recession, I think those fears now appear to be dispelled to a large extent," said Commerzbank economist Peter Dixon.
The improvement in services follows PMI releases showing that manufacturing unexpectedly returned to growth last month, while construction firms became more upbeat despite a slower expansion in activity.
British government bonds, often seen as a safer bet by investors during poor economic conditions, tumbled into negative territory after the PMI release, heavily underperforming German debt.
CENTRAL BANK BOOST
Britain's economy shrank in the final quarter of 2011, as manufacturers and construction firms scaled back production.
A contraction in the first three months of this year would tip it back into recession after weak recovery from a steep 2008-2009 slump following the financial crisis, with unemployment now at a 17-year high.
British telecommunications services group BT posted solid third-quarter core earnings on Friday despite a tough environment and falling revenue as it cut costs.
Insolvency data on Friday showed that the number of firms that went bust in England and Wales rose 7.2 percent to 4,260 last quarter, reaching the highest level in two years.
A leading British think-tank forecast earlier on Friday that the economy had entered a mild recession and would shrink this year, urging the government to boost near-term spending to prevent long-term damage from high unemployment.
However, Chancellor George Osborne has so far firmly rejected all calls for a fiscal softening, aimed at erasing the huge budget deficit over the next five years.
With the government's hands tied, the onus to boost growth remains on the central bank. The upbeat services survey lent further support to the majority view among economist that Bank of England would opt for a 50 billion-pound cash injection next week following October's 75 billion pound in asset purchases.
The PMI survey showed that business expectations made the biggest monthly jump since records bega

[Mo2047] World stocks, dollar rise on US job

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Global stocks surged on Friday as a jump in U.S. job growth whetted investor risk appetite, though easing expectations for more liquidity from the Federal Reserve pressured the euro.
U.S. nonfarm payrolls climbed 243,000, the Labor Department said, the most since April and well ahead of economists' expectations for a gain of 150,000.
"I was not looking for anyting like this. It's certainly supportive of the U.S. recovery and suggests that momentum is gathering pace," said Brian Dolan, chief market strategist with Forex.com in Bedminster, New Jersey.
With the U.S. recovery showing signs of gaining momentum, analysts said the U.S. Federal Reserve could have less reason to step into markets with another round of quantitative easing to add more liquidity.
"From a trading standpoint, it's positive for risk, but it also lowers the prospects for QE3, which is dollar positive," Dolan added. "That's why the euro, after moving higher, is drifting back now. The possibility of QE3 probably gets pushed back to the second half of the year."
U.S. stocks rose sharply at the open. The Dow industrials rose 69.48 points, or 0.55 percent, at 12,774.89 after the market open, with the S&P 500 up 9.55 points, or 0.72 percent, at 1,335.09 and the Nasdaq up 27.43 points, or 0.96 percent, at 2,887.11.
European shares hit a fresh six-month high, with the FTSEurofirst 300 index of top European shares jumping to as high as 1,072.34.
Despite the euro zone's continuing crisis, the index is up about 25.6 percent from the 2011 low it hit in September.
The euro fell to a session low against the dollar on Friday after the data, with investors seeing a smaller chance of further quantitative easing anytime soon.
"There does not appear to be any particular economic urgency for the Fed to step in, so I think that is consistent with our central view of steady Federal Reserve policy through 2012," said Vassili Serebriakov, currency strategist with Wells Fargo Bank in New York.
The euro last traded at $1.3080, down 0.59 percent. The dollar was last at 76.62, up 0.55 percent, after touching a session high of 76.69 yen.
Prices for U.S. Treasuries, often considered a safe haven in times of economic turmoil, plunged after the data.
According to Jefferies, dealers were long Treasuries by $91.859 billion on January 25, which is the second highest long position on record.
They are now likely dumping these positions after the stronger than expected payroll number and ahead of the Treasuries planned $72 billion in new three-year, 10-year and 30-year bonds supply next week.
The 10-year notes were last down 1-1/32 in price to yield 1.94 percent, up from 1.82 percent late on Thursday. Thirty-year bonds dropped 2-22/32 in price to yield 3.14 percent, up from 3.01 percent.
The strong U.S. data took center stage, with worries about ongoing talks between Greece and its creditors for a debt restructuring deal playing a second

Possibly not such a bad thing for this Board , cos if he had any sort of brain he would be dangerous !
