Mark Johnson's #TheBizLounge features Sainsburys again on today's VLOG on Share Talk. Sainsbury£s says it£s cutting 2,000 jobs to save £500m a year. The shares are off their summer peak, so is it a buying opportunity? And how fraudsters tried to scam billionaire Sir Richard Branson twice.

Sainsbury's is axing 2,000 store and back office roles as the supermarket chain looks to slash costs by £500m amid an intensifying price war with Aldi and Lidl. The retailer is restructuring its HR departments, getting rid of 1,400 store-based clerks and another 600 staff based in the back offices that serve the chain as well as Argos and Sainsbury's bank.

What time of day do you shop in Sainsburys? Thursday morning 09.00? Love to know where that statistic comes from.
Incidentally rise today explained away by cost cutting at Head Office, 2000 penpushers in HR. Good to see cost reductions taking shape to enable the full benefits of Argos T/O to be seen.

The average sainsburys customer is over 65, with at least two pensions, property paid for and lots of disposable income. This stock is much less sensitive than price focussed stock like asda for example when it comes to fighting for the lower end of the price market.
