The born -

Yes I wholeheartedly agree. The failed takeover by NSF has put a lot of noses out of joint and I suspect the share price will be held low for a period. But as I keep saying - this company is still turning a profit despite all the s**t. I’m averaging down the first chance I get. GLA

Excluding the 160,000 UT, there were 120,000 sells.....vs 800,000 buys.....yet bookies have somehow managed to dip the price again. This has to bounce back to mid £5s shortly and hopefully £6+ in the run up to interims next month.

Pricing on this has gone way out of whack, criminally underpriced. The Canaccord capital ratio note was completely unfounded.....its main point being that in 'materially adverse circumstances' pfg may have to reduce a future dividend to meet the 25% capital requirement. But it was communicated to the market like the company become insolvent!! Reading the note another way in 'materially adverse circumstances' the company would still be very profitable but would need to preserve capital to comply with banking legislation which in a worst case 'could' lower a dividend (yet highly unlikely) although even if it did, pfg P&L would still be adding value to shareholder equity even if it had to be put aside for a capital ratio test!

If the norm was for brokers to issue guidance based on materially adverse circumstances then all companies would fall into sell/hold. Give me a break. Canaccord bitter they called NSF wrong and have probably lost a lot of their clients money when they were calling for the takeover to happen - this is their parting shot.

Worth reminding ourselves of the recent trading update and visions for the future: https://www.providentfinancial.com/media/2480/pfg-ims-may-2019-v2.pdf

Perverse view from Canaccord. The flip side is that the sp is a steal at this price.
